It's like they think there's only two options for content:

1. Battle rap.

2. Documentary rap.

They're not very creative content writers at all.

Beyond their skills... they don't seem to have anything worthwhile to contribute creatively.

Telling us about things which happened in your life is not - in itself - creative. Budden says rhyming is easy; well, so is that - in fact - I'd say it's a lot easier than rhyming intricately.

Flipping your life experiences + viewpoints in to compelling theatre or provocative or original content however... is hard and I think the definition of raw talent in rap music. I don't think they have it.

I was interested to hear the album but now I'm really not.

I hope the album blows me away for what it is though. I'm not saying this kind of rap can't be amazing, but I don't think they're very good at this type of rap anyway - it sounds like it's done for its sake as apposed to from any place of sincere pain or inspiration, so it feels flat. But if they have dug really deep and kept a consistent tone throughout and made it intense... it could be interesting, but, we'll see. I ain't holding out.
