There is nothing beautiful about shitty programmed drums and cheesy synths. The 80's ushered in the digital era for recording/mixing/producing music, resulting in artists getting overly ambitious with synthesizers and synthetic drum sounds... it was terrible.

If you really want to dive into older music, I'd say to check out the 70s and 60s... that's when music was at it's finest if you ask me. The 90s is great as well, as people began to distance themselves from god awful genres that plagued the 80s (freestyle WOAT genre).

Each to their own, I'm not saying every track that was made in the 80's was great obviously but there is some truly great music that defines that decade

no doubt is 80's great, but 2000-04 was the best years of music. You had MMLP, TES, and 8 Mile. You had 50 Cent, G unit, D 12. You had Outcast's ''Speakerbox.'' You had Tupac's ''Resurrection'' album.
