Very true. My cousins younger brothers are way worse as children than he was, which is not surprising as they have different dad's, and the younger two's dad was horrible as a kid too.

Its in my nature to want kids, theyre so cute. Well not all, i hate kids who aren't my family lol. I guess your opinion will change a lot when you have a gf you're very serious with and wanna spend the rest of your life with. Then you'll want children but now it just seems like a scary thought

I'd even openly admit right now that if I was with someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and having children was important to her, I'd be very open to it. It's just not something that appeals to me normally.

I'm great with kids though even if I don't like them, so I'm sure I'd be a good dad someday regardless.

most of this is true for me as well. i don't want kids in the immediate future, but if i had a serious girlfriend and she wanted to get pregnant, i wouldn't tell her no. i get along well with kids on the rare occasions when i'm put in a situation where i have to interact with them, but i don't think i'd be a dad just because no man in either side of my family ever has. :/ i had fun one day last year when i worked as a volunteer in my mom's third grade class. those little dudes were talking to me about bioshock and gta all day.

Little kids like me, and my step-brother who's only like 8 always wants me to do stuff with him which is cute I guess, so I take him to the store with me, or go play hockey, or take him to the park and whatever which is fine and nice because I know it means a lot to him, I just can't handle how overwhelming kids can be.

Kids at their best are pretty okay, but when they have meltdowns I want to cry harder than they are.

Well, yeah that's for sure part of it, and I'm sure my mentality will change as I age. I do know a lot of people my age who already know they want to be parents sometime in the future though, so I was curious about how people here felt about it as most are in their late teens and 20s.

When I have a kid I can do kid things again like going off the McDonalds slides and swimming in the kiddy pools

I support. I enjoy doing that nowadays. For example, a rubberband can be a toy to a kid because you can form different shapes with it and it just makes you smile when something that retarded can be so entertaining.
