Yeah, but the problem is, a lot of times he feeds off of the negative attention. That's why it irritates me when people give it to him, because it's exactly what he's trying to get a lot of the time.

I'm just annoyed because for the past 3 weeks everyones been going at Silver for no reason. As much as his posts irritate the shit out of me sometimes, I hate reading through shit where there's always one post dedicated to calling him out on something. It's so fucking dumb.

What about when Silver posts a legit retarded and dumb post that needs to be called out? And where does the line between "going at" him and just criticizing him begin?

It doesn't need to be called out, it can just be ignored.

you don't seem to have developed a physical addiction to the nicotine yet, so there's still time to turn back without it getting nasty. you seem hooked to the ritual of it, so find something else to fill that with, try joints/blunts instead as a safe substitute, and if you can't afford enough weed to satisfy that craving then buy a nicotine-free vape pen. and shit, if you're not actually hooked on the routine of smoking then your possibilities are endless. just find shit to do with your hands, i've been fingerboarding for like 14 years almost, and i'm always building rc's or working on my b, just keep your hands busy dude. whatever you do don't resort to cigarettes, especially prerolled/packaged ones that have gone through the chemical enhancement process. 500,000,000 deaths per 365 days is the statistics in my country alone, and that's just direct deaths not including death due to illnessess developed as a result of smoking them. this is the definition of an epidemic.

I mean, that's crazy info there man. I find that smoking is needed to calm myself down at times. Distraction from smoking would always be PS3 but it won't happen when I'm outdoors. It's really scary to die because of something you choose to do ie smoking.

Rollefsen wrote:Try not smoking for a week, see if its a problem

No problem. Done it for a week, and also a month. No problem at all.

Just Silver wrote:How long have u been smoking for seems like a year or less

Roughly 3 years. My first light was when I was 15. I hated it. Then at 17 I smoked a pack. Still hated it. At 19, I smoked around 5 packs for one whole year and then stopped. At 20, I started smoking once a week. Gradually increased to thrice per week. Then by the time I was 22, I smoke one stick at least per day, as I mentioned.

TonyTilt wrote:I'm a smoker, have been for years now. I can smoke a pack one day and then 3 the next as well. What you have to try and do is do the shit you normally would with a cigarette, without one. For example I rarely can drive somewhere without a cigarette.

Ps. addicts don't usually self proclaim themselves as one unless they like the attention of being an addict more than the actual substance.

I guess a pack a day is addiction?

...

Perhaps I'm not addicted. At this rate of one to two packs per week? It's hard to confirm. :(

Skills said it, if you feel you need them... you're addicted.

Elison's counter point was incorrect. Yes, you may do many things you feel you need, but aren't an addict. Things like what, sleep or eat, or masturbate... all things for necessity or pleasure.

things like being here online, or music, my car, or video games, or my girlfriend -- my drug use goes in the exact same category as those things. they're absolutely necessary towards my life as it is currently, but i have the ability to not participate in any of them at any point. in fact if i felt enslaved to something recreational, that in itself would probably scare me too much to do that thing. now of course i'm only speaking for myself, but since i am me, it's all i really have the right to speak on.

A lot of people think like that though, and perhaps aren't psychologically addicted, but when they go to quit smoking/drug use/alcohol they quickly find they are physiologically addicted and start going through nasty withdrawals.

I think that's why a lot of people end up at the point. This of course only applies to things which are physiologically addictive, like smoking. My step-dad was at the point where he some days wouldn't smoke, and only had one every once in a while, but when he went to completely quit he still went through withdrawals because he was physiologically addicted.

Oh. What menzo is saying is you actually decide if you're addicted to something or not. You don't need people telling you otherwise.
