What was the transition song of 8 Mile/Gangsta era?

Eminem made 8 Mile OST in 2002 and his voice was fine (8 Mile, Rabbit Run, LY), but in 2003 his voice was already kinda slurred and his attitude/delivery was gangsta wannabe (Monkey See, Monkey Do, The Sauce)

How was that transition and when did it happen?

I'm pretty sure The Sauce was still 2002. I don't think his voice was slurred in The Sauce either. He was spitting bars as clearly as some of the 8 Mile stuff.

yes, The Sauce was released in 2002 and appeared on first Invasion mixtape

There's a huge difference vocally between Nail In the Coffin and The Sauce. On The Sauce, though his voice is a little thicker/heavier than it used to be, you can still tell it's him. On NITC, you can barely even tell it's him. It sounds like he's rapping while straining on the toilet or like he's got a cold.

But The Sauce and Nail in the Coffin were both released in 2002. Maybe The Sauce was recorded before but both are dope af in my opinion. I think Nail in the Coffin he just was trying a more laid-back aggressive style as opposed to the energetic anger that was quickly flowing through The Sauce. Just listen to the differences in beat and it's understandable why his rapping is different on each track.
