Surprised by the Landon Donovan omission. I know he took time off and I don't think that sat well with Klinsmann but I figured he earned his spot back with how well he played during the qualifier against Mexico(trash) and the Gold Cup which we ended up winning. He hasn't played well so far during the MLS season and apparently wasn't playing too well during the 30 man training camp so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it as a players form heading into the World Cup shouldn't be overlooked.

I think what ultimately did him in was how well the U.S. played during qualifiers in 2013 without him and his current form.

It's a bit ridiculous though, Klinsmann has stated numerous times that no ones spot is secure and that the players had to earn it, yet multiple players who have almost no International experience and haven't been playing well if at all for their club made it over Donovan. Green has played 1 fuckin game for the U.S. in which he showed basically nothing and Yedlin hasn't played well for Seattle and is occasionally reckless in his play which is dangerous for a World Cup. Greens roster spot feels like a reward for choosing the U.S. over Germany.

And you cannot tell me Donovan even with his recent poor play is worse than Beckerman and Brad Davis, both of whom have been given numerous opportunities on the International level and have proven they are not good enough for this level of play. I like Beckerman too after I saw his story I think it was on the first Inside the US's Road to Brazil, but the guy isn't good enough for a World Cup and I hope he doesn't see the field.

I don't know if anyone else is a U.S. fan here but if so thoughts?

Kinda nervous over opening game against Brasil. I hope that little worm Neymar will play the way he does for Barca, falling whenever someone touches him. And I hope the ref will not fall for his diving.

Really?? I hate this kind of music, and Pitbull in specially so I'm biased. But I think Shakira's song is more catchy.

But I wouldn't ask which is the best, but which is not the worse. Really something like the football worldcup deserve more quality music.

Belgium had a friendly game against Luxembourg, they won 5-1. No surprise. Lukaku scored 3 goals, and Januzaj made his debut with the Belgian team. He did great and the Belgian fans already love him.

We're the dark horses. It's just sad that if we go through the group phase and finish in the 1st place, we'll have to play against a big team like Portugal. And then Germany..

I wonder at what hour will the games start, because there is a huge time difference with us (Europeans).

People here would be satisfied if they make it past the groups phase. Everything after that is just extra pleasure nah mean.

But most of them play in big leagues and half of them have played in the CL so I wouldnt say they're totally unexperimented.

No doubt; whoever they do end up facing in the round of 16 will be tougher than anyone from their group. Getting past the group is seen as an achievement for England here as well, which makes a change from the blind optimism of winning it all in the mediaImage

It will be Germany or Portugal so yeah..

England has a tough group though. Italy and Uruguay right?

Yesterday afternoon I went to Carrefour , and Jesus there are World cup stuff everywhere.

Besides typical merchandising (shirts, hats..even a freaky headband with 2 flags) everything has WC references, the water, chips, balls everywhere.....Shakira's song in a yoghurt advert...The madness begin.

Argentina's offensive players are all some of the best players in the world. Crazy. You got Di Maria, Aguera, Messi, Lavezzi, Palacio and even Higuain.

The rest of the team goes from meh to good.
