Why is posting someone's avatar so funny? (contains S/O)

No matter what forum, what thread, what type or theme of discussion... If someone says something you think it's stupid, or funny, or you're just bored and don't want to write a proper response, you post her/his avatar.

I laugh everytime.

Now a polite rant: Stop fighting in every thread. One thing is discussion, other thing is offending people. Some people in this forum know how much trash of a poster/person I was months ago. I became more calm and more happy about things in general.
