Anyone else into this?
Lucid dreaming is when you have a dream, and you realize you're just dreaming. By using that knowledge, you can then alter the dream to do whatever you want. It feels very realistic.
Many people are mistaken, and think that remembering the dream, or if the dream is going as you planned before you went to sleep is lucid dreaming, but it's not. It's lucid dreaming when you know you're dreaming, and have control of almost everything in the dream. Teleport somewhere, fly, alter different objects, summon different people, etc.
I've always been good at remembering my dreams, which is important when it comes to lucid dreaming. When I was young I used to have few lucid dreams, but in the later years I haven't been able to do it (but I haven't tried either, except lately).
There are different techniques to achieve a lucid dream. If people are interested, I can mention some of them.
I used to try couple months ago, but then I stopped doing it. Now I am back at it again, and hopefully I'll manage to lucid dream. I made it once this year, but it was very short.
I was in the bed and doing one technique called FILD (Finger Induced Lucid Dream) and I did a little reality check while in bed by pinching my nose and closing my mouth, and trying to breath. I managed to breath even though my airways were blocked, so I figured I was definitely dreaming. The dream wasn't stabilized so I wasn't seeing very clearly. I sat up, saw a pen on the ground, and thought I should try to make it fly to my hand, and it worked. But then I lost control and the dream changed.
Maybe I was just dreaming that I had a lucid dream, or maybe I did actually have a lucid dream. Either way, it was a good start, but then I got lazy and stopped trying to lucid dream.
