BME: HELL THE SEQUEL

Postby Jaba » Jul 24th, '14, 03:30

Em is on top of his game here. This is Slim motherfuckin shady! When I listen to this it is like hearing MMLP and SSLP all over again. LOVE IT! This is definitely moving up on my albums lists!

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

While I own the CD, I only bother to listen to Lighters (it grew on me), I'm On Everything, and Take From Me.

This EP was arguably the turning point between Recovery Em and MMLP 2 Em.

Most definitely. It had the Recovery sound (and punchlines) mixed in with the quick, witty rapping of MMLP2.

Plus the odd song compositions. I'm happy that carried over. I hate it when people are lazy and just rap 16's, throw a hook in between each, and call it a day.

It's weird cuz most of the album sounds like Recovery Em but then there's The Renunion and A Kiss which sound like the point where he's forming into the style we get on MMLP2. Anyway 8/10 EP

The Rap God beat was produced in 2011 but he surely wrote it in 2013
