The weaker Album - Encore or Recovery? POLL

Listened to the whole of Recovery on the train today and it was Nowhere near as bad as I've previously thought. Em is absolutely full of fire throughout the whole album and some songs are outstanding imo (GTC, 25 to Life & Ridaz)
I've always defended Encore but I'm afraid Recovery >Encore now ... Give it a re-listen guys

I slammed the shit yesterday and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

The bad puns really do not make the slightest bit of difference when I have the shit on, almost every track is a blast to rap along to and although the musical aspects remain tacky... the album does actually sound cohesive due to the consistence of his rap style throughout as well as the beats... all mostly as bad as each other in terms of sounding clunky and too loud but they sound loud together. Not like tracks from different albums ala Monster meets RoR.

Not a bad entry in his catalogue tbh and there's so many high points to it, especially when we get in to the 2nd half of the album, overall it's a pretty satisfying/powerful listen.

For some reason Recovery doesn't fully cement its goodness though lmao, even now as saying this I start to feel maybe it's shit again... I think it's because it has no real sound. Like, I can't really hum a single beat or melody from it in my head... apart from CWB and AF, but his classic albums - everything is so memorable and there's a SOUND like SSLP had this muddy funk to it - MMLP had the g-funk on steroids meets horrorcore vibe and TES had the 70s rock thang going on but Recovery... it's kind of just... nothingness, that's all that comes to mind.

But then when you actually peep the shit again it's like DAIYME this shit is pretty dope.

Yeah, the album has no real flavour I guess.
One thing I wish is that there were 2 or 3 skits to maybe gel the album together better... as it is, it's just sort of like an assault - it's just song after song with each one being louder than the last. If he'd have included a few skits it would've gave us a break from the NOISE and maybe giving the album a bit more .... Well a bit more of a memorable atmosphere tbh
Anyway it's still a decent addition in his catalogue and you can tell he really is trying to give us one hell of an album! (Even if he did try a tad too hard)

Encore has so many more weak moments in comparison to recovery. I like the production on Encore better, but i dont feel theres anything comparable lyrically, stupid puns and all when it comes to Recovery and Encore, Recovery just comes so much harder. I feel Recovery is better than most people here like to give it credit for, its not one of his best, buts its definitely not in contention for his worst either.

The general consensus here maybe. I think Encore is without a doubt his worst album and is the only album that should be applicable for his worst. I think you should give recovery another listen through, I dont think its as bad as you may think. If you have cool, everybody likes what they like, I dont think im doing much to convince anybody of anything anyways lol.

Interesting, I would put Encore at 5/10 and leave recovery at 7/10.
