Where will Rap God place in Top 100 Rap Songs All-Time?

Postby Jaba » Aug 6th, '14, 16:27

You always see lists by Magazines or people on the internet of the top 100 rap songs all time. Em usually has 5 of 7 songs in the list. Lose Yourself is usually in the top 10. Where will Rap God place? By many it is Ems best song since his come back. And since he is older will he get a little more recognition for this song? And it is an amazing song! And by some it is his best song or second best song of all time. So, where do you think it will rank?

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

I'm only saying that no publication will ever rank it top 100.

We have over 40 years of hip-hop music in the books, Eminem will definitely make the list.... but it won't be for Rap God. He has far greater songs than it tbh.

I say Stan, The Way I Am, Sing for the Moment, and Lose Yourself are definitive classics that would make the list, but I'm not sure they'd put anything else. Same goes for artists like Jay, Nas, Big, and Pac.... they'd get 3-4 songs themselves and would probably be the only artists to do so.

I can also see Outkast, Kanye, and Rakim getting 3 songs in.... but that's about it.

Don't forget Kanye gets like 15 or so songs for some reason

Well if there was a definitive top 100 rap songs of all time - TWIA, SFTM, Stan & Lose Yourself should be near the top but that probably wouldn't be the case. Rap God might make the bottom third of the list

I dont think Rap God would make it. He has far more iconic songs than that. Media and critics seem to be afraid of putting Eminem on there lists for one reason or another let alone more than once. I would hope Lose yourself, Sing For the Moment, The Way I am, and Stan would make that list but im not so sure.

best or not the best on the album doesn't mean shit, top songs are picked by the impact/originality and other stuff, u can't just make a lyrical song and say its top 100

this song has more chance of being on top 100 than love game, evil twin, brainless and other songs imo
simply because of the fact that eminem finally said that he considers himself one of the best and the current "rap god" which is pretty much true, so him admitting this makes it great and also how he proved it by changing up flows and schemes during the full song and naming people who influenced him to be a rap god
