I don't dig Recovery as a whole project but some of the songs on this album are really dope:

It's decent
Not good, not atrociously bad as some members make it out to be.
On fire, Almost Famous, Going through Changes, So bad, Session One and Ridaz are all great tracks.

Recovery always feels worse than it is in my mind, when I go back and listen some of the songs sound fresh AF

I enjoy throwing Recovery on in the car with some friends and enjoying the drive.

It's not a brilliant album but it's solid and has some great moments.

As much as people bash the "poppiness" of the album, the serious content and normal voice was personally refreshing to me after the bombardment of Relapse's serial killer shit (don't get me wrong, still love Relapse)

I actually remember hearing Love the Way You Lie for the first time and I was blown away. Now I can't remember the last time I listened to it, that shit was so fucking overplayed it's not even close to funny.

As a whole album, it has its flaws, but I think it's a perfect example of the actual parts being better than the sum of its parts.

Some great lines:

"He's dying of boredom: Take your best rhymes, record 'em
Then try to thwart him, he'll just take your punch lines and snort em"

"Who forms pyramids and raps circles around square lyricists?"

"So puff the buddha, light a bong,
But take a look at Mariah next time I inspire you to write a song"

"I'm wasting punchlines but I got so many to spare
I just thought of another one that might go here
Naw don't waste it save it psycho yeah
Plus you got to rewrite those lines that you said about Michael's hair"

"Pull up in a van and hop out at a homeless man
Holding a sign saying: Vietnam vet, I'm out my fucking mind man
Kick over the can, beat his ass, and leave him 9 grand"

Going Through Changes 4th Verse is top 5 since his comeback.

Also 2nd verse of You're Never Over is complete fire.

Also Ridaz GOAT.

Still not one of his best albums, but it just goes to show how high of a bar Em has set.
