Would Em ever diss Jay?

So, I was reading this thread ( viewtopic.php?f=3&t=173114&p=2747561#p2747561 ) and, while it's obviously fake, it made me think;
If Jay was to say something like that, would Em diss him? He stated a lot of times that Jay is incredible and that he's one of his influences so it would be weird for him to diss Jay.

Also, who would win? Em is a much better lyricist than Jay, and both of them have had a lot of beefs in the past. Em won them all. Jay, though, has had beef with Nas, arguably one of the greatest of all time, and kept going without any carreer damage, just like nothing happened, while Em has always beefed with rappers that were far worse than him, aside from maybe Canibus.

Mmh... I don't know.
I mean, he has always said he's in the game for the respect. Over the years he said he just wanted to be viewed as peer from the other greats (Jay, Nas, Dre, etc.). I think that reading that someone like Jay said something like this about him would make him go crazy. I'm sure about it. Going crazy doesn't mean he'd diss him. He might just hold his anger. I'm sure, though, that if 1999->2003 Em read this coming out of EVERY rapper's mouth (with the exception of Dre) we would have heard a diss track.

Canibus was a joke for most of his career, sadly.

I doubt that Jay-Z could touch Marshall lyrically, but that's not the point, Jay is an incredible artist with a reputation beyond repute, like Marshall. There would be an uproar if they beefed, maybe. I don't think they would beef, because they respect each other so much as artists.

Marshall was volatile enough to lash out a long time ago, not so much now.

Basically, Jay tries to maintain a spotless, above the rabble persona, while Em is down in the earth and filthy, like, if you're wearing a really expensive suit, would you try to wrestle with a pig?

Also, Jay's 'beef' with is prolly the weakest shit I've seen in my life.
