He put Asher Roth in a song just for referencing Em in the past tense. I couldn't imagine that he wouldn't say anything to something that offensive. If he said "I don't like new Em". That's one thing. But saying he hasn't had one single great verse in 13 years (including TES and Lose Yourself) would be brutal.
Good post. Which brings me to the question, what would Em's reaction be to Jay Z saying he doesn't like the new Em? Obviously it depends on how he says it, but how would Em respond to that? Would he do nothing, or address it in a one-off line on a song? Maybe reach out to Jay? Or just be sad
