This song makes me a bit sad too. But I do think that a lot of what he's saying is that he is now just going to make the songs HE wants to make... Regardless of what music execs or the public has to say. He's saying "no more fear"--he's going to be true to himself from now on. No more pretenses or images he feels he has to portray. He's done playing the role of angry blonde and class clown. And right now, he feels most passionate about being a strength and inspiration to others. He bought into the 12-step mentality big-time. Heck--he still wears his AA pendant 24/7.
P.S. Poor Eminem--people will forever be comparing his new music to his old, and people are forever down on him for not being that same 28-year old angry blonde. But personally, I like the Recovery-era Eminem the best. He's hot, powerful, self confident and purely inspirational. And beautiful inside an out. He just needs to go back to his real brown hair!

His job used to be half lyricist, half actor. He was a lyricist who performed, the George Carlin of rap. Now he's a lyricist who takes those lyrics and chops them up over a beat.

His writing here is excellent, but it would be more enjoyable just to read his lyrics than to hear him actually rap them.
