Other rappers can get away with even 3-4 shit songs and still make a classic because their songs aren't as extremely defined from each other, so if there's a few duds... they can slip through the cracks and blend in, they don't really ruin the whole vibe. But there is NOBODY as extreme as Eminem; his songs are SO definitive and weird even from each other (Bad Guy vs. So Far... the fuck?) that if he makes something of a different tone it just sticks the FUCK out like no other.

Like seriously, who the fuck else could make something like 'Rap God', before anybody says Tech or some shit - yeah he could imitate a structure and have impressive bursts and brilliant technical moments but not even close to the level of natural humour, range of vocal tones and performance and overall feel of drama.

Thing is though, he's kind of shot himself in the foot by making MMLP2 because everything kind of has to either be b) less extreme than MMLP2 OR a completely different direction. Because if his next album is MORE extreme again... MMLP2 will look stupid. Because people will just feel ''this should have been MMLP2'' and suddenly MMLP2 won't live up to its extremeness and the title won't make as much sense.

So he's either done that intentionally to force himself to do something completely different next... which is not inconcieveable and would make me happy. OR (much more likely) - he just doesn't really care now about overall album themes and treats titles more like a quick summation of a good batch of songs and really is just trying to make good songs and nothing more; and he'll just make his next album in a similar way and call it something else based on the kind of hooks and humour he incorperates.

Either way, I literally think he's in his rapping prime right now. So weird to hear myself say that too, like yes his ''PRIME prime'' years aka SSLP-TES were fucking magical and the lyrics will forever be nostalgic, profoundly memorable and unbreakable as they are the moments which cemented his impact BUT in terms of exciting rap and what he can do with words and flows... I don't think he's ever been better than he is right now @ Rap God, RoR, Baby, Groundhog Day... his level is just crazy-another-fucking-planet and entertaining & inventive as fuck.

On point Embase :worship:

Thats probably the most-likely scenario at this point.

Either that or an album which for a change has just fun and happy songs. I don't want anything Mockingbird styled I also don't want over 50% of the album to have dark songs. It must have dark songs but not over 50% of the album. Something as happy as So Far but much more fun :) :> Then after he does such album he can do whatever kind of songs on the next album. Cause Em just doesn't have enough songs which are happyish.

I dont think hes referring to the people hes insulted like that( rappers and celebrities. Im pretty sure hes more referring to his mother and Kim.

Eminembase. Let me ask you this. You know how Em goes hard sometimes in freestyles or in the bonus songs like Baby? Why don't Eminem make an album for the real rap fans and make songs like Rap God, Baby, Rabbit Run, Ground Hog Day? Now wouldn't that be a classic? He's never really done a whole album with just raw flows. Instead of talking about his career and how he's feeling and all that stuff, maybe he should just show off his flow? If he is concerned about sales, he could always just throw in that one pop song with Rihanna for the radio & leave everything else pop free. He always rhymes well, but why not push the limits with flows? Recovery was kind of a pop album, Relapse was more of a playful dark album with odd accents, and MMLP2 was just all over the place. No wonder he can't make a traditional, conventional classic like u say.
