Boastful and arrogant - i know some americans and none of them were boastfull so not really

Disrespectful of authority - nope, actually americans seem more uptight with law to me, especially given the fact that your cops actually work.

Drunkard - in this category u have a long way to go to what i have seen.

Extravagant and wasteful - yup, many are, theres a lot of people so obviously.

Generous. - dont think so. Seem more like each man for himself out there.

Ignorant of other countries and cultures - definately, but thats result of national education problems.

Informal- donno

Insensitive - hard to generalise

Lazy - nah, many work hard

Loud and obnoxious. - No, moderate.

Promiscuous- yes

Racist - well america has a long history of racism and the upper class still is racist.

Rich and wealthy - well america is the richest county so yes.

Rude and immature - judging from the humor, the music.. it seems that - yes, many are.

Snobbish. - yes

Stingy. cant really say.

Think they know everything. - Yes.

Thinks every country should imitate the US. - Yes

Uninformed about politics. - Yes, they are informed about politics, but its often a wrong and a biased view.

i agree. most of them are wrong ...

that's one reason why i feel like rap has a bad influence.. and other media for that matter.. when it comes to other countries. the only thing many people know about black people who live overseas is n*ggas.. bitches .. and hoes.... many probaly think we're criminals.

..i know i heard in china or japan, there was a show or something using the word n*gga and they were showing it on airplanes because they seriously didn't know it was offensive...

and my african american studies professor said that when she goes to different countries, they always expect her to be... basically.. a n*gga.

it saddens me when i think of how ignorant i was of my own people and my own country before i took up African-American Studies. it opened my mind to other struggles in other countries.

 ... now where was i going with this?

bottom line... stereotypes suck ass... :tounge2:

To tell you the truth in my country, its sorta the same. But to us the word "n****" means nothing, aint like there we ever used it as a racist thing to say, plus we never had slavery, the word just has no significance.

Stereotypes do suck ass, but u cant really hide from them, stereotypes are statistics, they show peoples views on communities. With time that stereotype will change and will reflect the new situations and issues.

Plus, most of ya'll watch comedy shows that make fun of stereotypes, like americans find jokes bout latinos, black people, white people funny and russians like me would be more amused by jokes about jews, armenians, and the stereotypical russian. But ofcourse stereotyping to hate is wrong, coz u cant hate on statistics.
