how do u guys feel about stemcell research?

sum ppl say that its just as bad as abortion, becus it requires a human fetus. others disagree, becus they feel that becus it not actually a person, and its for a good cause, that its right... its a very contriversial issue... and im affraid that im a bit self conflicted wen it cums to this issue... wat r u guyes take on this?

I dont know much about its advantages, but i thought it could help develope new treatments.

A foetus is not a baby. Even babies dont have a consience untill they develope some info in they brain.

Why are people so uptight about abortions anyway. I realize its emotional atachment, but the life of that baby is only worth the time a woman spends carrying it in her woumb.

We drop bombs on iraq killing civilians and some are happy about it, but abortion - NO. I think the concept of being humane is totally screwed up. Humanity should rethink its policies.

I'm not against it, medicine should be constantly developed.. Such researches can save ppl's life, so I don't think they should be stopped. People usually talk shit, including clerics and religious fanatics, but they don't use logic. If we develop medicine, we can save more ppl, we can eliminate diseases.. There's nothing wrong with stem-cell research.. :confusion:

i agree with u yoshi... it could be extremely valuable to modern medical research. however, i for sum reason have always been strongly against abortion. but for one reason or another, i dont really veiw this as abortion. i mean it could save and improve the quality of life for litterally millions of people.

You know stem cell reasearch isn't only used with a fetus it's also used with brain cells and it doesn't really matter because the cells they use are from deceased people... So if it helps out then let em keep doin it.. I mean with all the research there should be a cure to Aids and HIV in no time.. In fact I think there was an Arabian or Hindu doctor who was close to having a cure... But who knows...

if somebody posted up a positive/negative contrast, I would like to voice my opinion because right now I am screwed up in this issue... My half baked opinion so far is produce a video for us to view and/or have the parent and or relative of that stem cell watch it happen and diagnose the information from that.... or is that harsh?

i disagree when they take a fetus and do it. that is wrong. but it doesnt matter if they take the baby cord from their bellybutton and do it that way. its just better that way, its not hurting anyone, or killing anyone.

yeh but you have to remember in order to save a life youd really be sacrificing a life. so either way like that its a lose lose situation.

well I think it's just weird and abnormal to use a dead fetis for research but if it will help cure cancer or something like that then y not. I'd say it's worth a try.

sacraficing a single life to save another single life IMO is circumstancial but to sacrafice one to save many and many could be hundreds of millions over time i think the answer is clear...........................at least to me it is
