Well if its a label for yourself, and you dont intend on signing anyone, then its around 8000$, take in consideration, signing papers cost like 400$ for a pack of 15 sheets

so its 8000$ so like 4 grand to set it up then an additional 400$ thats roughly 200 pounds to sign someone

what about a studio how much it cost to set up on of them ?

A label has nothing to do with a studio.

Look, all the paperwork and liscenses together, is about 1000$, now you need money to publish, thats around 5000$, and the most expensive is to distribute, even if its only to a local store, that can cost over 10,000$ unless you have a distributor, but in that case, if your sales suck, you'll lose alot, and i mean alot of money....

Best thing to do is save up around 20,000$, spend about 5000$ on advertisment around your town, and release to a few local shops, maybe you can sell 50/100 copies a year, and thats not bad for an indie label, when we release the pulse records mixtape, are statistics are showin we can sell about 250 a year, and were pretty well known, with great advertisment, then again, theirs places like sounclick, all you need is a paypal account.




Oh, at bar, just a tip, dont start a label, because it will most likely fail, and belive me, the only reason i have one, is because im going to production school in a few months...and that way i can get a job in the industry in the future...
