Need mastering/mixing tutorials.

Postby AspirinE » Jan 17th, '07, 16:03

ive been trying to figure out better settings, better volume levels etc... on my own, but i really need some tutorials to figure shit out a bit.

would be better if the tutorials are for rap, ive seen those kind of tutorials for other kinds of musics wen a lot of instruments are involved before.

Can anyone hook me up?

you mean for mastering your own beats or your acapellas onto a pre-made beat?

Mastering/mixing the whole song, after its done(all parts of the song are done and the acapela is filtered and mastered)

Say i have 10 songs and want to have a smooth effect of transition in songs. i want to know how to master bunch of songs so they would have the same beat/acapela volume, and equal overall sound.

I never saw a tutorial about that unfortunately... it would help me too... but I think the only key is practise, cause it's really a case-by-case situation... or you can try to compare your tracks to professional tracks and compare the level of the acapella

yer aint come across a guide for this...i guess its all about listening wit the ear....makin sur eu use the same db levels across each track f or each of the elements.

Also when your editin the tape at the end to make it flow, and all songs into your editor and lay them next to each other and work out the transactions.

Its takin a year oof hard work but im pretty sure ive worked out correct levels so i guess its just about pratice.

it is hard work indeed. I just finished 7 songs, but i still need to do some mastering for each, i guess ill just keep working to see if self-teaching works.

If only i had more time, thats basically why i thought of searching tutorials to learn a bit quicker.

thanx anyway. But if u guys ever see any uselful tips , it would be appreciated if they were posted.
