1. y=2x + 1; (0,0)
2. y= -3x - 5; (1,1)

1. y=2x + 1; (0,0)

slope of parallel line is same so, slope = 2
then plug in (0,0) into y -y1= m(x-x1)

u get y - 0 = 2 (x - 0) so then break that down and ur equation is

y = 2x

2.y = -3x - 5; (1,1)

slope = -3

y - 1 = -3 (x - 1)

break it down to
y = -3x + 3 +1
which gives u the answer as

y= -3x + 4

its easy. slope-intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept, the place where the line crosses the y axis. and the slope of a parallel line is the same for both lines that are parallel, so the slopes for the first lines is 2 and -3 for the second set, and u just plug that and the y-int they give u into the the equation y-y1=m(x-x1) where y1 and x1 are two given points, for the first one its (0,0) and (1,1) for the second. just get y on its own on one side and u have it in y-intercept form.

how hard is it ppl, this is like the easiest slope question ever. it gets a lot harder than this.
