Asteroid to hit Earth in 2014?

I have heard/read this in several "end of the world" programs and articles. It does not deal specifically with asteroids or meteors, but apparently there is some significance to the Mayan calendar ending with the year 2012. Didn't mean to imply that there was an asteroid prediction, I was just saying that if the world is ending in 2012, we will not have to worry about the asteroid in 2014.

Apparently the Mayan calendar has proven to be extremely accurate, but it comes to a complete stop in 2012. I have read lots of speculation about the significance of this, especially as it relates to various "Planet X" and asteroid stories.

to be honest, if i had prior knowledge (like 2-3 years) of the world endingright now, i wouldnt really care.


Id have the greatest two years of my life and not waste time on edumacation and jobs.... that would be wonderfull.

then id die happy, knowing that the world as i know it wont exist anyway, coz in death i fear only the feeling of loss the people who care for me would have.

anyway, the mayans dont say in 2012 a astroid will hit earth, there saying the sun and earth will be in a line in the milkyway and there will be 3 days of darkness and nothingness ( something with gasses) and the same cyclus will begin again..

Im actually pretty intrested in the intelligence of mayans around that time and big "Landing ways" for ufos and stuff
