Rap Battle Voting

Hello,

A few of us, rap battlers, have learned that these categories that we use to vote on are a load of shit.

Be Honest:

• is Structure as important as Nameplay and Punches?
• is Multis as important as having flow?

No, they are not.. We are not saying that these should not be categories or anything but we are saying they should not count as much, because people try to change their whole style just to fit these categories.. If you'd noticed I had to.. I used to be better than I am now, but now that I have this "style" that works for those categories, I've been winning.. Which to me is stupid, these need to be changed.

structure and multis are just as important as everything else, if not more important.
Without structure, people would be going crazy with line legnth and itd end up being 2 whole lines of text for half a bar, people do it now sometimes and don''t realize it's way too long to rap right. try rapping a 16bar verse on a beat with lines that long, you'd need a 32bar verse to fit it into. (trust me, it's happened in the past) Plus, it'd be boring to read lines with no structure, as it is now when lines are horrendously too long.

and multis are just another way to vote on someone skill. without multis, the battles would be boring. Also, many people can't write multis or other forms of complex writing, it's a major skill you incorporate over time and really should remain a voting category.

all categories should remain the same. If they didn't mean as much as another category, it'd be unfair, and make no sense. If everything didn't count equally like it does now, the whole voting procedure would need to be changed completely in order to work. I don't see that happening any time soon, and don't think there's a need for it to happen at all.

how can u maintain a good flow without strucutre.. those two cats go the same...

the line length can go all directions if u dont maintain strucutre...
and as for multies ...... u should know how to use it... u can use multies to add up complexity which may throw up a powerful punch or even do some crazy nameplays... im the votin aint gonna change...

Don't lock it, lets see what the opinions are.

I`m in agreement with TS and C-G, we have to have a category for Structurre, it does seem kind of unfair that someone can lose a cat, because of having shorter or longer lines, but as much as multies are a skill, so is editing your lines to present a good strtucture, especially if you don't compromise the effect of the rhymes flow or impact.

Some things about the voting are similar, like rhymes & multies, for me whoever has the best multies would have the best rhymes. So the rhymes category seems a bit arbitrary to me. Also, the vocab and complexity are very similar, I usually give these prettty much the same reply. I think these could be changed to Rhymes/Multies & Vocab/complexity, but that's just an opinion.

hey when i vote on complexity i dont consider vocab alone
i consider other aspects as well

ex:- how a punch is created using good multies....

or a nameplay with a meta which rhymes with a big word...

so complexity should stand a diff category

and as for rhymes... contamination .. abomination.

all the categories are meningful, even structure, in my eyes anywae, if you are pissed coz you cant keep structure and keep loosing the cat then you got to practice more, but some voting is dodgy when it comes to nameplay and some other categories but there is a thrad were the are all explained some people just chose to ignore them

no i've een wining the structure category, but jmg brought up how it isn't fair and shit and i just decided to pos this..

^ it's too late to join the tournament (i think), but you can battle when ever... just make a call out in the 'call outs' section
