Cashis is supposed to be at his best in every way on every song- it's his EP and soon to be his album. He'd never be able to make a name for himself and grow as an individual artist if Eminem or any other gifted rapper outshined him on a track.

I'm not sure if Em deliberately held himself back or not. He doesn't have to necessarily do his best on every verse on every song that he's involved in- he has to hold something back creatively to use on his own work. Even the shitty things he does (the majority of songs on Encore, for example, even though most of them still amuse me), that are shitty by the standards that he set for himself, are still better than what the majority of rappers are putting out today.
