Myspace Bulletin from D12

Postby slimtrop1 » May 26th, '07, 21:06

I just received a bulletin from The D12's myspace page, and it goes like this:

D12 Features AVAILABLE

Kuniva: Kuniva is available for verses & hooks. All work will be done virtually. Drops are available with a purchase.

Bizarre: Bizarre is available for verses & hooks. All work will be done virtually.

Kon Artis / Mr. Porter: Mr Porter is trying to help up-coming Emcee's. The man responsible for 50 Cent's "P.I.M.P." or G-Unit's "Stunt 101" is offering beats for new rappers at an insanely cheap price.

Swifty McVay: Swifty McVay is available for verses & hooks. All work will be done virtually.

INTERESTED?: Email mailto:jason@rapbasement.com with "FEATURES" in the subject line. Let me know your budget & we will negociate and get things moving! THERE WILL BE A CHARGE, these are multi-platinum artists, so you have to compensate them some, but they are doing this FOR YOU, as they were once up-and-coming emcee's.

CRAZY HUH?!

I spoke with the guy, the minimum fee is $1000, So I am guessing that is for a hook. A verse would probably be around 2-3 grand.

most probably

they act as if there giving something back to underground rap by doin this, but giving something back to up and coming (mostly broke) rappers, would be to give a limited number of verses for free same goes for hooks, and for beats have somehting like 10 beats available for $100 each or something

coz seriously who has did this ? i aint seen no one jumping around the net with a kuniva or bizzare feature and im sure id see or hear or a couple of people if this was actually working, and again i wouldnt pay for then to feature, there signed artist been in rap for over 10 years...it would take them like 10 minutes to write a verse above my standard, they only need to make sure they dont get killed by the underground rapper, so really its one big con

That's pretty much right, every artist got a price. It can make the whole career of some1, so it's naturally not cheap. Damn, I'd love to make a song with Bizzy  If I got a million dollar, it's will be the first thing what I will do :8)
There will be my signature. It'll be a hot one. You'll look at it and say - wow that's a gangsta signature.

But would it be the first thing you do if you had a grand?

haha
Thats a good 1/6 of production cost for my next cd.
