said this excludes you
I respect ur opinion, but when my common sense alarm goes off and ive just finished smoking my cigarette, i cant resist but reply.
and what i said regarded the general public. like i've said, i don't think you liked 50 much to begin with, but the general public did. and you may be excited for new albums, but the general public doesn't feel that way. maybe downloading has to blame for that, but look at the charts, the general public doesn't seem to care about hip hop now. the last album that the general public were sorta excited for was jay z, and he turned out to be a disappointment to most people, did he not?
The charts dont reflect general public, BET has been exposed for setting up charts, MTV is without doubt doing it and always will be. Jayz disappointed coz he is not acting up to standart, because ironically during 3 years of total degeneration in hip hop community many see how rappers with money simply started slacking. The reason as to why people care less about hip hop now is also ... 50 cent the amazing rapping gorrilla, its eaten too many bananas and slacking while being king of the jungle charts.
critically, 50 can be argued about, but i stand by what i said about breathing new life into MAINSTREAM hip hop. you can't sell millions of records and have millions of people singing your song, and not make some sort of impact on MAINSTREAM hip hop, or MAINSTREAM music, in general.
The fuck is the difference between mainstream music and ordinary music? none, there should be none, when artists "breathe life into
'mainstream'" ... they fuck up music, thats not really impact that sheep hording. The term itself should be abolished it has destroyed creativity in general, when real musicians play in underground tunnels.
if you're talking about me specifically, i don't listen to much hip hop now, whether it's mainstream or underground.

well, people who care for hip hop music music despise the impact of the likes of 50 cent, sometimes someones ultra fame really carries a lot of responsibility to the genre.
