Change to design of forum - What do you think?

Asp came up with the idea, I've worked on creating it and it's ready to go but first I'd like your opinions on the change to the top of the forum skin. I'm working with Asp to clean the design up a bit, too many divisions of large white rounded rectangles aren't as slick as it should be, but we're getting there.

I've uploaded two versions, one without the red links .. if this is preferred we'll find a way to include those links in top. What do you think?

There are a load of good designers here, speak up if you have an idea or could help.

I think both are better than the present one, nice job getting rid of the excessive white spaces and tidying the look a bit. Of the two you posted I prefer the second one, but I think we shouldn't remove those links, maybe just change the Red colour to something more subtle. Good job anyway, we're moving in the right direction.

I've noticed you've got rid of that option to "read submitted message or go back to forum", that's something many of us said would make things move a little faster and better, hopefully people will agree. I've been having a lot trouble loggin on in the last day or two though, is it because of you experimenting and trying to implement this change? If so, hopefully all will be well from now on.

The things I'm doing shoudn't affect login at all.
Though saying that, changing to this new server has meant people are still viewing the old server, I'd give it at least till monday till I start properly testing things and making sure there's no maor problems.

some also should flush their dns

cmd -- > ipconfig/flushdns

i like the first one.....and this may be a real old qustion and probably has been answered before but why isn't there an option to click on to see new topics like the old skin? like i said its prolly been answered and i havent payed attention but thats one thing i hate where i have to go through stuff just to find new topics.

1st one, but what i wanted to ask for is that little bar that was right under the banner - it said how many posts i got, and when was the last login and how many posts i got - is it possible to bring it back, master Tee?

Quick reply is coming, no worries on that.
The change fro white to black was Asp's idea, and it's a great one,
there were many big bulky white blocks that confused, this is a throwback to minimalism.

cause sometimes i just need to go in and say Thanks for Feed and i have to waste 30 sec doing that.
