I'm almost sure it was made to Eminem Show. It's got the same flow, energy, and the music is similar to what he made on this album. For some reason he didn't put it to TES or Encore, but I think the whole song had done in 2002. At one of he's freestyle's he even says No apologies in the end of the verse.
There will be my signature. It'll be a hot one. You'll look at it and say - wow that's a gangsta signature.

It sounds like his new age voice... so I would've thought he recorded it specifically for the re-up. i think artist save songs for the sake re-using it and re-recording it. i don't think he would just slap it on the album and not have any touch-ups on it.

I can see why people think it's an old song and it was recorded back in 2002 or something, but I'm pretty sure it was (re-)recorded for the Re-Up... even tho the emotion he has in his voice sounds like his 2002-2003 voice, it still sounds like his "new" voice to me... it's just that he hasn't made a song with that type of emotion in quite a while lol, and like it's been said, it's just a matter of him wanting to rap like that

No Apologies would have been recorded not long before the Re-Up was released.
The track would be pointless if the last verse was recorded a while ago, the fact it's recent brings the old verses up to date with the last new verse to test himself and show that he still has it. No Apologies is the first serious emotional track since When I'm Gone, I'm sure he knows we want more so King Mathers or whatever the album will be called, he'll deliver.

I disagree. Does no one remember the Re Up commercial on MTV that said "including a previously unreleased track?" It was obviously recorded during a 2001 session since when he freestyled the verses he said "No Apologies", which suggests to me it was a done track. The third verse is the only thing debatable imo and ppl use things like he says the word mourning and mentions cartoon tats. personally i'm not convinced at all by either of those arguments since "mourning" is just used as a throwaway word to complete a rhyme and doesn't seem to be speaking on proof at all and the whole cartoon tats were getting A LOT more press back in 2001 than they ever have in the last 5 years. no one bugged him about the proof tat cartoon did. another thing ppl say is how come we've not heard the last verse before like we have the first two...well, maybe he just never bothered or never needed to bother spitting it in a freestyle session. just cuz he didn't "freestyle" it doesn't mean it didn't exist back then.

as for the voice argument...i dont hear it, sounds old to me. there may be a slight difference between the first two verses and the third but it's minor and doesn't mean anything to me. there are a number of songs where his voice changes slightly from verse to verse.

it doesnt sound re-recorded to me either, if anything it almost sounds like it was never fully mastered. we might never know for sure but imo the whole thing is from a year 2001 recording session. I'd like to see some definitive proof either way. :)

How do you know he didn't?
They gave their opinions just like you did.

You even asked in the first post "When do you guys think he actually recorded no apologies?"
Yet you still had something smart to say to someone who gave a different opinion to you. That's weak.

I looked in the credits, and it looks like it was recorded for the Re-Up... cause the recording engineers were Mike Strange and Tony Campana (or something like that lol), and that Tony guy didn't work on any Eminem albums until Curtain Calls (for When I'm Gone and maybe other tracks not sure) so I doubt he would have worked for No Apologies in 2001 and then only work with Em in 2005... it's possible, but I kinda doubt it

(by the way, I didn't check the credits for every single song of every Eminem albums, so i could have missed Tony's name, but it looked like he never worked on any Eminem songs until Curtain Calls)

It's definately a plausible idea considering how Eminem has been recently

However i think that he probably wrote those 2 verses in the MMLP/TES days, and possibly recorded them, but re-recorded it and wrote the new verse for the Re-Up, because he has that kinda strong voice on "The Re-Up" ft. 50 Cent too.

Of course this is all just speculation
