Nah, not really man, i`m not buying this, Eminem is not that metaphorical. I respect Katastrophe's point of view, it's really clever to think of the whole verse as one big metaphor, and I really wish I could believe his verse was this good. But, Eminemfan419 is right, most fans wouldn't get it, regardless of real hip-hop fans or not, so the meaning would be redundant and useless. And he wouldn't diss another artists while doing a track with him, that would be two-faced and hypocritical, which would mean he sucks as much as some of the modern mainstream hip-hop that he would be dissin'.

Nice try Katastrophe, but it's wrong, let's accept this wasn't Eminem at his best.

I also thought about it when I was listening to that. I'm not sure if he really meant to use all the metaphors listed here, but some parts of the song are obviously meant as dissing the new rap, for example "They're like dad, this is in, so get with the trend. This is for the pimps, listenin' to MIMS, nail polish on the rims"; "In the Midwest we okay. E'rybody know them southern boys love that bass" - I think the whole style of the song and Em's accent are meant to imitate the 'new rap', which is for making fun of it. Plus, the part when it says "When we touchdown, On the private plane gettin brain, 'till we touchdown, there aint no way to keep 'em quiet" seems to be referring that the new rap sucks and he wants to tell them to shut up but they won't. Idk, I really think he disses new rap there.
But I agree with people who say it's too metaphorical. We will never know whether it's just a pointless song or not. :zipped:

i dunno about touchdown, but pistol poppin...he clearly says "vack to the snaps and clapsi wasn't dissin' the south, that isn't wut this is about, i'm just so sick of the beef, i don't even wanna see anymore...pistol poppin"...........ALSO, that verse is dope, dunno why people were chirpin....and one more thing....comparing King Mathers LP to touchdown is just stupid...its a featuring song, therefore its not really his shit, hes doin wut needs to be done to the song...just like "smack that"...that shit's not marshall, when he has his own songs out...thats when it happens

I always thought that the verse was mocking rappers today, from the content that's completely unlike him to talk about to the retarded voice he used throughout the song, but you broke it down like it was a class that you invented. That's pretty hot and I completely agree. A lot of the metaphors you're talking about make perfect sense if you listen to what he's saying and put a little thought into it. Props bro.
