Recording Engineers also edit, mix down and master songs. It doesn't mean it was re-recorded at all. They could have just edited the Beyonce line or something. I guess we'll never know for sure but the MTV ad saying "previously unreleased" pretty much sealed it for me.

I'd say you're talking about "audio engineers" in general... cause the people who mix down songs are the mixers/mixing engineers (the song was mixed by Steve King and Eminem in that case), and the songs are mastered by outside people, once the whole album is finished, (by Brian Gardner in that case, like every Eminem albums if I'm not mistaken)... but the recording engineers are the people who set up the recordings, and control the hardware while recording etc...

but like you said, we'll never know for sure when the song was recorded...


by the way, I made a mistake in my previous post, I said the first time that Tony Campana guy was in 2005, but it was in 2004, on Encore


Edit: yeah I agree with what you said kez... if you listen to the other songs on the Re Up, he pretty much has the same kind of strong voice, it's just that he didn't have the same emotion since No Apologies is the only "emotional" track...

Good point. Thanks for correcting me . If you're right it would add credence to the theory that the third verse is new since they would be the guys working on that.

the first two verses were in a 2003 freestyle in his basement, then he made the 3rd verse and chorus so i guess he recorded 2005 or 2006
