4D pretty much summed it up but i thing to note abt the question"could eminem achieve the same status if he was black?"
simply put Eminem would neva have achieved the same status/identity if he was black, i mean he always get compared to, lke he the Next 2PAC, he's the future NAS, he's a legend LIKe JAY-Zbiggie, u kno wat i mean. :tounge2:
i mean if he was black he'd ALWAYS get compared to , like -HE IS AS GOOD AS pac, nas, biigie.

BUT He's WHITE, the fact that he's a legend in his league(dont kno how 2 put it) is world to him , n i think he's content n happy wid tha :p :worship:
just n opinion
hit me
PEACE :b:

See the weird thing about that is, neither Pac, Nas, Jay-Z or Biggie have soared to the heights that Eminem has, critically or commercially. The only thing he is lacking compared to those black rap legends is the same respect from black hip-hop fans. That's where it becomes racist, he loses respect simply because he's not black. I`m gonna say something I don't think many people have before, Eminem would have been just as successsful if he was black. If he had the same upbringing, speaking about the same things with the same talent. He still would've been massive. Disregard colour, he is one of the best rappers ever in terms of flow, lyrics, and content. Now any black rapper coming up with that talent is gonna get signed a lot easier than it was for Eminem. If a black guy had wrote a song like Kim, Stan, Sing For The Moment or Lose Yourself, surely it would've been just as awesome. That's my opinion anyway, i`m sick of all this shite about Eminem being successful because he's white. You can say that about anybody, that it's because of their colour, but in reality that's just first impressions, you have to have a lot lot more to be successful in hip-hop. Colour of skin has as many negatives as it has positives, and none of them are relative to him being successful, he did that himself.

u also say that "i`m sick of all this shite about Eminem being successful because he's white. You can say that about anybody"
wat about fat joe? hes white n the only track eva heard from him in dubai was the lean back, that 2 cause of the game(nfs, i think dont rememba).lol :p
i wont evn mention vanilla ice, cause he aint evn in his league.

Well, what you're saying is that The majority of people buying cd's and going to concerts is white, not the population of the world obviously because in terms of population White people are one of the smallest groups of race. But back on-topic, yeah the majority of people at Eminem's concerts are white, guess what, the majority of fans at any concert are white. Simply put, white people in general (sorry to generalise) have more money to be spending/wasting on going to concerts or buying CD's. But im not in denial man, obviously Eminem is very popular to white people, for once white people can have someone like him come into a music genre we love like hip-hop and represent us as well as any of the great black rappers represent black people, or as well as some of the great black athletes that came into white male dominated sports like Baseball, Basketball and Golf, then brought it to new levels and forced others to improve their game. While also opening doors for their race to realise that they can succeed in these sports/musical genre's and mix with the rest.

u also say that "i`m sick of all this shite about Eminem being successful because he's white. You can say that about anybody"

Well I said that meaning something entirely different than you think man. What I meant was that people could say that the people who are great are great for a reason, and you could think of a negative reason to put down anybody who has acheived greatness. You could say that 2Pac is only idolised by black people because he was murdered, or Michael Jordan was only great because of his cool dunks. It's ok saying part of the reason 2Pac is so iconic is because he died so controversially, or part of the reason Jordan was awesome was the dazzling dunks, or part of the reason Eminem is so successful is because he is white. It's just when ignorant people say that it's just for this reason that it becomes a serious insult to the person they're talking about as it shits on their other shedloads of talents. It's disgusting to see or hear, and is usually only done by people who don't know what they're talking about. But, nevertheless these fuckers can influence others to think the same, which is a shame, no rhyme intended.

P.s Fat Joe is not white, not in race terms. He is Puerto Rican but has light skin like caucasians. Saying Vanilla Ice was successful because he was white is also not fair (Even though i'd like to say it is), it was really the catchy hook, marketable image, cool beat and actually good delivery of below average lyrics that sold the records. Mc Hammer proved that it has nothing to do with race whether you become successful or not, because he did the exact same as Vanilla Ice except he was black. Which kinda proves that if a black someone came along with the same talents as Eminem and did the same things as Eminem did, he could accomplish the same things.

but ur argument was valid :worship:

Thank you, your argument is also valid! :)
