so if someone spat their verse someone with the extra long lines would be spittin for double the time that someone with normal lines would, do u see what i mean? it can give one person an advantage

altho in the case of this battle i think both of you write the long lines so it wud be fair if u both do it and if u both want could do 8 lines instead of 16 cos 16 is a lot for that amount of bars

my bad, i meant to say, yes, BARS refer to music like producing.. when people say spit a 16 bar freestyle, their referring to spitting on the beat of 16 bars...

if i'm not mistaken, a bar is 4 beat with snares land on 2/4 beat and 4/4 beat, bars could be longer and shorter depending on the tempo of the beat... so here limiting how long a bar is, is wrong.. so that's why you use "lines"

yes, and i was just elaborating on what you said...
that's why i rewrote my post saying, yes instead of no.

all i said is you can't limit a bar while you can limit a line, so that's why you use lines.

oh right i read it before u changed it, and i didnt quite understand the way u described it but yeh its four beats in a normal 4/4 beat like, - kick_snare_kick_snare_ - and thats one bar altho some ppl seem to think its four snares which it isnt

yea, and if the tempo is real low like at around 70, the line is gonna be a lot longer than if it was on 100.. which is why i said you can't limit a bar, while a line you can, just like on a piece of paper there is boundaries for a line.
