Imagine if...

Postby Robbie G » Oct 28th, '07, 03:27

Ok, Eminem releases the eminem show. A few months later he releases the single "Like Toy Soldiers' Ending Beef. A week later later he releases "When I'm Gone" explaining his life and saying goodbye to his fans. "Even when im gone carry on.."

The next day he gets shot, and killed. Does he become bigger than Tupac?

this is kinda weird...

but my thoughts on this are...

people would probably turn it into some 2Pac type of thing with theories and saying hes still alive and he faked the shooting. so people would be buying his music more to see what he says in his unreleased material looking for clues and things like that. they would over analyze his lyrics and then half his songs wouldn't seem as good.

but if he had died before he put out Encore he wouldn't have the harsh critism from that album so he probably would have been said to die at the peak of his talent...until the songs from encore come out as unreleased songs on a CD then they would probably just say "he was going crazy before he died" or something like that. either way he probably would reach 2Pac type status but not quite as high as 2Pac just for the simple fact people wouldn't want to do that.
"Did you ever stop to think/I'm old enough to go to war but I ain't old enough to drink" - 2Pac

"It's time to let the truth be told/There ain't no brighter day/'Cause when it all unfolds/A n**** gon' just pass away/These haters tryna stop my grind/But I bet them hoes can't block my shine/So tired of takin' losses not this time/I can't save the whole world I'm just tryna look out for mine" - Z-Ro

he'll have been bigger than 2pac no doubt...

the reason i say that.. because it'll become a racial issue, where people will say "he got killed because he was white and was getting too much respect" or something like that.

He's already bigger than Pac, he doesn't need to die to do that.

you mad or wat?

when im gone WAS NOT SAYING GOODBYE TO HIS FANS if you listen it was him telling it to hailie explaining that everytime he goes away on tour he wants hailie to carry on normal not cry just listen to him and know that he is with her even though he is away ect... ect...

and as for even thinking he gets shot after that and after what happened to proof, you fucking warped in the head or what?

He's already bigger than Pac

get real

Eminem can BE considered bigger than Biggie Smalls, but never can b bigger than 2Pac.

Lol, that was a kinda rash thing for me to say, but realistically speaking it's not wrong. Pac is a huge icon, loved and adored by masses of hip-hop fans, and rightfully so. He had a huge impact in rap while alive, and after death even more so. But, he is put up on too high a pedestal. Any hip-hop fan worth their salt, and with a relatively average knowledge of hip-hop emcees would say that Tupac is not the greatest rapper ever. His body of work for me is mind blowing, he has to be the most prolific emcee ever. He was a good lyricist but not in the same league as people like Nas or Rakim. Anybody with a shred of honesty would admit that he acheived most of his notoriety and fame, for the east-west coast beefs and his subsequent death, which kinda made a martyr out of him.
Eminem, has won more awards, sold more albums and is arguably as worshipped by white people as Pac is by black people. If he got shot even now (NEvermind after The Eminem Show) it would be a massive loss to hip-hop and music fans all over the world. But, i`m sick of this dying shit being recognised as a reason for someone to be idolised. But, it has always been the way, not just in hip-hop, it happens in all kinds of music, in art, movies, sports, etc. When you die, people stop taking you for granted and at last give you the respect you deserved when you were alive. It's only when they're gone that we browse over their portfolio and think, fuck sake, that was amazing, I`ll miss not hearing or seeing that again. That's why I don't like bullshit being said about my favourite rappers or musicians, because they have done stuff that has been amazing for us to hear or see. They might put out a few slightly weaker tracks here and there but that is the same in everything, you gotta take the good with the bad.
