Dr. Dre's 2008 Productions: Detox, new Em album, new Busta & more!!!
It seems like the last three years the question on every hip-hop fans mind has been: Detox, is it coming this year, or is it not? It seems 2008 most certainly than ever, it finally is. 2008 is marked to be the hopeful return of Dr. Dre and his hip-hop family including big names like Snoop and Eminem, as well as newcomers Detox is bringing with it, including Bishop Lamont, Slim, Ya Boy & Ca$his. After making a brief, but welcome, appearance at this year’s MTV VMA Awards it seems Dr. Dre is ready to return in full form. In 2008 Dre’s Interscope imprint, Aftermath, plans to release six LP’s from its already established artists as well as newcomers. The first of which is Busta Rhyme’s second album with the label “Back on My B.S.” Fans can expect to hear three new productions from the Dr. However, Dre has taken a step back with this album handing full executive ranks over to Busta – which is no surprise given Dre’s busy production schedule.

Eminem album Talk

It is actually hard to say which album fans are anticipating more, Detox or the label’s second album scheduled for release in early March. After rumors of retirement it seems Eminem has decided to step back in the booth with his fifth solo LP “Living Proof: The King Mathers LP.” “Living Proof” will feature much heavier tones than Mather’s last outing, 2004’s “Encore” which left fans and the industry confused. Aftermath plans to release the albums first single “Pushin’” in January as well as the street single “King Mathers” featuring Eminem protégé Ca$his soon after. Following in the footsteps of Eminem’friend Nas, “Living Proof” is Eminem’s attempt to save his passion in the name of his fallen friend Proof. A rare occurrence for Eminem, the album will also feature outside production from Scott Storch and J.R. Rotem as well as Eminem, the majority of the production ranks will be handled by Dr. Dre as well as the album’s first two singles.

Detox Album Talk

Though things are still tight lipped, Detox is slated for a June 3rd release. Usually such a certain date isn’t disclosed this early, but according to Aftermath sources Dre feels it is the perfect date. A tour is planned to follow 2000’s “Up In Smoke Tour” starting in late June. Fans should not see it as a farewell tour to Dr. Dre, but a celebration of his career, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Bishop Lamont are all rumored to be joining the tour. After two high profile releases, Aftermath plans to finish out the year with Bishop Lamont’s long awaited debut, “The Reformation” concurrently with the tour. Aftermath fan’s can also expect the debut of Tiffany Villarreal late next year, as well as Stat Quo’s long delayed “Statlanta” possibly anytime next year. There are also plans for 50 Cent’s final album on the label to be released, but not much is known with how much Dre will be involved with it. Fans can also expect to hear new productions from Dr. Dre on upcoming albums from: Eve, The Game, Ca$his, Obie Trice and Andre 3000.

Hopefully this is true, but like you said it is Wikipedia so... :sweating:

I've been hearing good things about Em's album but you can't really know until it finally comes out [figures crossed about the release dates for "Detox" and "Living Proof: The King Mathers LP" (if that is the real name)]. I don't want to be dissappointed by having too high expectations, but I'm really exited, for not only Eminem's album, but for "Statlanta" and of course "Detox" :coolthumb: . In my opinion he should take out the "King Mathers" part and just leave it at "Living Proof". I like that name. It may just be me but Scott Storch's stuff all sounds the same. I haven't heard everything he has done or anything like that, but from what I have heard it's not anything special.

Sounds authentic, but without a confirmed reliable source it's hard to believe anything. I really like the title, 'specially the "Living Proof" part, that's cool. But would probably be best used for a Proof posthumous release. I'd like to see where this info came from before Wikipedia. :(

he should just leave the title as "The King Mathers Lp"

and all of that is fake beacuse of one simple and lonely thing

Eminem would never let Scott Storch produce for him

wonder why scott didn't produce a track on "curtis" and timbaland did

cuz Dre & Timbo are the 2 best producers on the world, and having a white dude call timbaland a niqqa, and disrespect the best, make dre hate him, that makes em hate him, and of course makes 50 hate him

Scott Storch is dead.... Long Live Timbaland
