Does anybody notice that this video is reallt old. Look at Em, he must still be like in his 20's, and that's a while back. So maybe this was the first time he used that freestyle?

there are plenty of times he hasn't used written verses. eminem has done so many freestyles on radio shows you could fill several cd's worth with them. there are many other rappers who will do some written verses as well the only difference is we haven't heard practically all of those rappers back catalogue (or perhaps the majority of their freestyles are just not available as eminem's is) to know what is a freestyle and what is written.

You're wasting your breath, don't try to talk sense to people, they don't listen, same assholes will come back saying Eminem is shit at freestyling.

(Man, i've said this a lot of times, but here it goes..)

There are 2 types of freestyling, the original form: Off the dome rhyming to any given beat, and the second: Dropping some pre-written Show-yer-skill-type-shit to any given beat. Both are freestyles. If you think of freestyling in anything, Breakdance, Skateboarding,etc. Freestyling will mean that the artist/athlete is without constraints or rules, for example in rap freestyling bars, verses, choruses are noticeably absent, because a freestyle is an exhibition of talent, and a true emcee shows all his skill in his lyrics, or in the ability to spit off the dome unrehearsed. Both are equally impressive to me, and Eminem has excelled in both areas. Anyone in doubt should try listening to "Any Word" or "Rhyming Words" again, they are truly off the dome, and sick as fuck. And there has been times where he's done pre-written freestyles but at the end continued on off the dome and been awesome, like "Big Lincoln" and the freestyle with the Coca Brovas. Also, don't forget in '97 he earned Freestyler of the year on the Wake Up Show, which is no mean feat, as they are truly well versed in the knowledge of hip-hop freestyling.

I've only heard the "Any Word" before..

And what you said about freestyling is true, after what I mean.
It's not only Eminem .. it can be others too who uses pre-written verses.
What if they write a little verse before a show or something.. since they don't want to be "caught" in using same verses over and over again.. Know what I mean ?
Em may not think the same, and uses the same verse again, which may actually be a "not pre-written" verse.. lol

Yeah man, the majority of rappers spit some pre-written freestyles, and of course we think EMinem spits a huge amount of pre-writtens, which is true, but we only know that because we collect every single iota of his back catalogue. If we did the same for any rapper, we would find the same thing, well, any rapper who has had as many oppurtunities as Eminem to freestyle live. I`m not saying there are not better freestylers than Eminem, but saying he's shit pisses me off, he's a great freestyle rap performer.

I agree with you.
I've heard people (not talking about membres in TR) who says that Eminem (or any other) is shit because he/she performed something they've performed before..
And when I show them a really good freestyle, they ignore it too.. They just want to hate. They'll never look after other things about him/her.
I don't understand that, which pisses me off!
