What Seperates Eminem...

Postby Tash8 » Dec 19th, '07, 21:33

What I think seperates eminem from many rappers out there is his emotion...

I've never heard as much anger in any tracks like the way i am, soldier, amityville... and as much as "blueness" as he had in if i had and rock bottom

but don't get me wrong, a lot of rappers do it, but eminem makes it sounds so easy and simple...

He brought the pain of a white boy to the rap. He became to the best musician of all time. Plus he's got an incredible voice. :8)
There will be my signature. It'll be a hot one. You'll look at it and say - wow that's a gangsta signature.

i honestly wouldnt say musically there's that much difference bewtween him and other artists (who get slept on), i mean he has great lyrics (but other people have better and he didnt invent having great lyrics) he has great flow (loads of people have great flow) he had controversy and the whole i dont give a fuck thing (loads of other rappers have mentalaties like this), if you break eminem down he hasnt actually got many unique defining qualities. what seperates him for me was his ability to split the colour barrier and show people that not all white people are middle class and have well paying jobs, he came across and showed that side of somehting that hadnt broken into main stream rap (succesfully) ever, and it was tracks such as "if i had" and "rock bottom" that showed this in a way were everybody could relate.

so really (ive said this before) the thing about eminem isnt what he does, its how he does it.

so if i cad to say what seperated him, id say his understanding of the music and how to express what he wants to say in music.

I think the emotion is the main, but can't avoid that the very great beats and his flow help too, and the lyrics have importance.

Yeah, emotion is what brought my attention to Eminem. When he first came out I didn't really listen to him mostly because I was younger and wasn't into music like I am now. I obviously knew who he was and knew his songs, like "The Real Slim Shady", but those kind of songs didn't make me want to get his album, even when I did get a little older. The song that I really liked and what made me want to listen to more is "The Way I Am". I liked the energy of that song. It was songs like that that made me really get into his music.
