The beat and the outro hook were the best parts of the track in my opinion. I don't hate the song, I like it, it's not Em's best, but it's still a good track. The beat just stands out for me above anything else.

The beat was fine, and most of the chorus as well... I just think this song was an act of laziness. The vocals were shitty at best, and the rushed flow made it seem like he was tired while singing.

True, I hear what you're saying. I just took another listen to it, and I see what you mean production wise, it's not really the best. I wonder where he recorded it at  lol....

No apologies is a good song. I saw when he freestlyed it on BET when he was promotin' The Eminem Show & it was hot then. I like the emotion in the last two verses because it's real, especially the breakdown. He threw a hot beat behind it & ran with it. No body says that about all the other old mixtape things he takes & turns into a song. He's been doin that for ages. I hear alot of lines in a tremedous amout of songs that were used before over & over again, but it's still hot. Just depends on how you produced it. He even said himself in interviews that he has tons of songs & freestyles he throws into vaults & uses them when the time is right. You also have to realize most people don't listen to every little thing he does, so it's new to them. :D

i disagree with everything you said

Beat was real good, jsut cause it was simple doesn't mean it isn't good...

second, so what if he used freestyles, many people never heard them before, just like myself.. i'm glad he made them into a song cuz otherwise i woulda never heard it...

third verse, was about him saying he still has it, but he doesn't need to show it to anyone but himself... which was stupid of him to do that when he uses 2 freestyles?

my only problem is he's telling people he still has it, and used 2 recycled verses

other than that... it was a good song.

I totally agree with you on that the song is terrible. I have heard it only a couple of times since it was released, maybe like 5-6 times, and then never listened to it again. First of all I don't like the beat - simple beats can be good, but this one just isn't. The beat has no depth at all and is actually kind of annoying to listen to at times. The first 2 verses are good, but the third one sucked. And I do not like recycling freestyle verses already released before. If this song was on a mixtape, it would be ok with me, but I just don't like how he decided to make the Re-Up an album and then release a half-assed song in the end of it. It would be perfectly fine with me if he replaced the last verse with a verse with good lyrics, improved the production, and added a much deeper and well done beat. The only thing that I really like about the song is the chorus.

Well, yeah, I understand what you're sayin' - a whole song of old freestyles is lazy of him, but it doesn't really make the song bad. It just ain't that original or fresh to make it the best song he's ever made, far from that, but... it doesn't suck. The song still has its brilliance, 'cause the freestyles he used there are damn good. The only thing that makes it a whole less valuable for me is the fact it doesn't show he still has it. If it would be a new song, there would be more hope for the upcoming album since it would be the only decent thing he has made recently, but yeah. We'll see about that.
I'm not a pro at mixing songs nor productions, so I can't take a word about this. But for a mortal listener like me it's okay, there's nothing that'd scrape my ears at least :D .
So, shortly... it isn't anything extraordinary, but it doesn't suck either. It's nothing compared to his old songs, of course, but compared to 'Touchdown', 'Peep show' and other recent tracks he's been on... Haha it's kinda ironic that I'm forced into comparing him to the worst songs of rap history while he has been the absolute top or at least very near to it, but yeah... :sweating:

Go listen to the song again, and you will clearly hear the terrible half ass production and mixing. Its pretty clear, its not like theres one little vocal flaw...

by vocal jumps, you mean when there's distortion, right? or when there's a "pop" sound... for those who never noticed it, pay attention at 0:37 when he says "quick", you can hear it a little... but one of the worst is at 1:31, when he says "touch"... this one is pretty clear... might depend on the type of speakers you have tho

It's quite surprising to hear that type of things in a song released on a professional album, mixed and mastered by the top engineers... I see two possibilites.. they either did that on purpose to make the vocals sound more "raw"... cause some people often add distortion to the vocals on purpose to give a different feel (but in this case it doesn't sound like it was made on purpose IMO) or maybe they just didn't bother re-recording it since it was a bonus track?

yeh i agree, the whoel thign seems lazy, and i do dislike him using old freestyles...not that they were true freestyles he admitted most of his freestyles are written but thats not important, the fact that you have a song saying you still have it, your a mc ect. then not even using new verses shows how sucky a attitude he has now

No body really sits & listens to every little thing honestly. So u either like the song & production or not because it doesn't matter. He won't issue any apologies LOL That was lame. But seriously, I stick 2 what I said earlier, real fans do listen to just about everything because I try to, but most people don't care anymore. It really doesn't matter 2 them. Maybe he released the song so he wouldn't outshine the other artist, which he did anyway because the album/mixtape sucked.

I think a big reason why alot of the music on the RE-UP album had rushed/poor quality production is because the RE-UP was 1st supposed to be released as a Mixtape but was released as a full release because it turnrd out better than expected. TBH it should have stayed as a Mixtape. There is nothing outstanding on the album. Smackthat RMX was alright.

Whoah, you're right... I must've been deaf, seriously  Now I get it, though. I'm usually really concentrated on lyrics, it pretty much blocks everything else out for me. Looks like sometimes it's even good, lmfao.

Ha, I thought I had a bad version of No Apologies because when I first listened to it I recognized the pops/distortion. I was planning on searching for a better version. I guess the production really wasn't that good.
