I thought he did a pretty sick job on that track. I love the hook for it.

The hook was great, but it was not a subject he should have rapped about in.

just because he's not black doesn't mean he can't acknowledge black struggles. there were many white civil rights activists. you are aware of that, right?

i like the track personally. but i see the issue you are trying to address, tash. and i actually agree. i've mentioned it to people before. and, as someone before me said, just cuz he's white doesn't mean he can't be featured. that is true, but yet Em doesn't belong. Tupac went through a surprising amount of shit, alot of it being cuz he was black, for somebody who wasn't born into slavery and/or from that time. Em, on the other hand, neither grew up in that time frame nor been through anything even relating to the content in the verses. wut racial issues did Em go through? besides bein a white rapper, and the occasional jump (which prolly happens to a whole lot more people than him). i dont feel like Em has a place in that song given the specific topic in it. if it were a song on struggle in general, than yes, his chorus would fit perfect.

other than that, i enjoy the song. not too many songs out there that actually touch on that issue specifically. so its nice to hear something unique for a change.

nice thread tash :y:

I like Black Cotton. But my opinions are not valid due to my music taste is bad, 'cause I like Touchdown and Encore... :tounge2:

Hook is very very good, but I would rather hear that from Eminem's own song.

I think Black Cotton is better than Soldier Like Me, anyway...

I dunno, it just seems that for a while Em was featured on shit that just doesn't make sence .. (like he was on the D-Block anthem off Jada's album) ..

It doesn't matter what color of skin you have, it's about the inner side. My opinion is if 2pac was alive he wouldn't mind to make featuring with Em...
