Free Decent Video Converter

I've had many video converters but they are normally trial versions and if they aren't every time I convert there's writing at the top, e.g Total Video Converter. So could someone please give me a link for one which is free and can at least convert to AVI or MPG and for it not to have writing at the top saying the name of the converter. Thanks in advance.

I did it all but when I got to the point where you say choose WMV 3 it wasn't there so I randonly put MPEG just to try followed the right steps and then the program got a typical windows error and it closed...

I accidentally put MPJPEG so I tried MPEG 4 (no WMV 3) cause u cud put ASF and it didn't do anything

Yeah but it got that thing at the top which I really don't want cause I wanna make videos to post on Youtube, I already have done done that, but first of all I need to download videos from Youtube and they come out as .flv so I need a Video Converter which is not trial or that you have to pay and that it has some weird link and name at the top.

Do you know if there's any way of taking the writing off?

please man cause that writing is what spoils it, seems stupid but it doesn't look good with it at the top
