People have been saying that Em completely lost his musical talent in the past one or two years. But take a look at whose songs he's featuring on...Akon, T.I., 50 Cent. And look at the subject matter of these songs: Girls, random shit, and girls. Now these 2 factors already show me why Em hasn't been doing too good. He's been working with artists that are too mainstream for most of his fans, and the themes and topics in their songs are not Marshall's style at all. And I mean, I would normally expect a whole song to be about a single thing, so Em wouldn't really add his own style and theme to a song about bitches and whatnot. It's possible of course, but I mean, it's just the subject matter of the songs that make them bad.
But look at what happens when Em makes a solo song. People say that "Step Right Up" was actually a pretty good song. Personally, I thought it was good.
I dunno, I hope this made some sort of sense. I'm not good at finding words >.<

I agree a little. Just because the subjects matter was bad doesn't mean the lyrics have to be terrible though. I wasn't expecting a classic, but some multi's would have been nice.

Also step right up was pretty old so that doesn't count.

I believe that Em (and I say this being a huge fan) has slightly fallen off on the lyric department. But I will say that on Peep show the rhymes were pretty good for not even having 32 bars, I thought Touchdown was good in the fact that it was diff than anything I ever heard from him. I thought Pistol Poppin was unique because he sounded diff in that song plus you could feel the emotion. I liked his chorus on "I Can Be" again he brought the energy on that track. Akon's song was diff but overall not bad. I think that's where we are all thinking he is falling, because we always expect the dopest shit, and rightfully so. And after encore, we def expected some dope shit. And the re-up had all hot shit by him, no apologies, jimmy crack corn, the re-up, public enemy #1, you don't know, they were all nice track with some nice shit on em. I think that he will kill whatever he comes out with next, meaning only it being the first single of of his album or a single for something else. Either way I think the fact he put out only classic shit for 3 straight albums and underground shit, we all just don't understand when he doesn't kill shit. Just my thoughts.
