Obie is overrated by the amount of people saying he's underrated
Kanye
T-Pain

i would mention people like Soulja Boy or however he spells it, but it's only his "Crank Dat" track that people dwelled on, not Soulja Boy. the people who listen to that song don't give two shits about his Geiko gecko lookin ass, they just want the song.

but by your obie thing, then wouldn't royce be overrated 2

not in my eyes. nobody hates on obie, he's just slept on. nobody is sayin he's a dried dog terd in the sun. Royce on the other hand has quite a bit of people doggin on'em. and quite a few of them are the die hard Em fans who have chosen sides, but then if Em does a track with Royce again they'd be on Royce's dick as well.

haha word homie :y:

Overrated
95% Southern music, NWA ( Straight Outta Compton is good just not classic), G-Unit (except Banks, hes the only one with a ouce of skill if you can get past the shit-talking), Biggie ( really was a just flashy rapper of the 90s who occasionally talked about death, if there was no east or west coast beef, he would be another flashy rapper), Lil Wayne (do i need a reason), Snoop ( basicially he still acts like he's in 94 still though Sensual Seduction was a change), T-Pain ( he can't sing for shit, he can only dance) Akon (basiciall a R&B singer with a club or gangster mentality and usually have one song about Africa but i still think hes ok)Jeezy, Soulja Boy etc etc [insert southern act/gangster raper name here]

Under
Xzibit, Talib, Royce, Big Pun, Redman and Method Man (to a extent), uk rappers

Biggie ( really was a just flashy rapper of the 90s who occasionally talked about death, if there was no east or west coast beef, he would be another flashy rapper),

if biggie is overated and if his fame was coz of the beef, then why aint you mentioning tupac ?

biggie had better rhymes than tupac, and ALOT better flow coz lets face it tupacs flow is bad. he may not have had as many songs, but he also doesnt get as much recognition.

lyrically biggie was no where near where tupac was
biggie's voice got annoying...and tupac's shit never got old...why do you think there still puttin out his albums after his death?...
and the outlaws were 10000000 times better than biggie's junior mafia click...
tupac's shit actually meant somthing while biggie was rappin about partys/girls ext...
face it bar biggie was ok
tupac was on a wholle other level..

fair point...Tupac is kinda overrated whn you think about it, but before the beef even started Tupac's early work before the thug image, though rough, had heart. tracks like Young Black Male, Trapped, Brenda's Got a Baby &Part Time Mutha to me will mean more than Juicy & Hpnotise is (not to say that BIG never had any decent shit, im just saying that Pac beats BIG)

Lyrical no, but he was a great rapper. Who else has unreleased songs that come out 10 years later that sound better then half the rappers out...but we like didn't things

everyone knows his material released after his death has been way below his standard when he was alive the beat choice has ruined him and most of the albums have been cashing in and suck...

and Big rapped about alot of shit other then cars and girls... Juice is perfect example (I can't think of anything else right now..tired

dead wrong, dangerous mc's, would you die for me, if i would die before i walk, who shot ya..just to name a few more lol

And they are still releasing pac's stuff cause he had shit that he never put out...big didn't, diddy used up all of it.

diddy didnt use it all up there just wasnt that much biggie material, after tupac got shot he did some crazy shit and locked himself in the studio for ages recording song after song after song, sometimes he would write and record and it wouldnt even have a beat (hence why they need producers to re-produce his tracks when a new album is released) pac just had a crazy work rate lol

2pac in essence is very lyrical... define lyrical for me? i think lyrical has a lot of different attributes to it, rhyme scheme, metas, and wordplay, and similes aren't just what makes shit lyrical.. for example, eminem only has a sick rhyme scheme.. he hardly uses metas or wordplay, and only sometimes uses similes. but he's considered lyrical...

lyrical has a lot more to it.. for example Story Telling lyrical (2pac genius at it), Word Structure Lyrical (the pauses that 2pac does are what makes him special), Emotion Lyrics (have you heard Dear Mama)...

to me it means more than what you think is lyrical to be lyrical... and so yes when it comes to arguing whether 2pac is lyrical or not, to me he is.
