Had a bit of an argument with this one guyover rap not being music

well back in Africa (from what i know) it was used as a way of story telling then later on gained a beat, but it still remand as a form of storying tell where as something like classical, rock, or techno would be different... Xl

Rap came from jazz you know we all have are own views on music but rap is music story telling or not I agree that there are allot of story's in rap witch is the point in it all but it IS music just look at it like this theres a chorus in rock, there a chorus in rap.

ok still disagree? You know what instrumentals are right? Its the beat of rap and you see the word instrument in it it takes instruments to make rap. It takes instruments to make music so rap is music.

So am I right?
