Eminem IS better than 2pac...1. he's a better lyricist. that's not really even close...Eminem is (or was before Encore) the greatest lyricist of all time, because he not because of his complex rhyme schemes and delivery, but because he can rhyme liek that and actually SAY something. 2. I prefer Em's delivery/flow/vioce over 2pac's deep voice and constant "huh's" in between lines.

And please...Biggie better than Em? Just STOP. Biggie was not that good. listen to "Dead Wrong" remix featuring Em...he fucking kills Biggie.

Haha Agreed. Maybe we should all just understand that we all have opinions. If someone comes on here saying fucking Diddy is top 3 and defends it, it's because they think that way and know all about their songs and career and whatever because they are such big fans. So when it all comes down to it, especially in a hip-hop debate about who's the best, top 3, top 5, whatever, it'll always be opinion. People will put Em top 3 or even at the top, and others wont have them in their top 20, because it's all OPINION.

Both Eminem and 2Pac are great rappers. It's your opinion to say who's the best. Quite a few of you have been saying that 2Pac is only liked because he was shot and cause he's dead he's famous. Yes, he's even more famous cause he got shot but do you think that only happened to him. No, there are other great artists who died and are liked three times as much. Kurt Cobain, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley. These guys were famous at their time but even more now that they are dead.

Someone said that all the white people who listen to 2Pac don't even pay attention to his lyrics. Well, I'm white and I definitely listen to his lyrics. I put his lyrics on my iPod so when I'm going to school by car I can read them cause I like them a lot. God some of you ignorant pieces of shit just think it's about the color of skin. Man, have you listened to his album Me Against The World, I listen to it from Track 1 to the last track without stopping. Those song are of his best. Listen to Lord Knows, It Ain't Easy, Old School, So Many Tears, Death Around The Corner. Some of these people probably don't even know cause they aren't hits like Changes but honestly they are even better.

And for those who just think he got famous after he got shot. Watch Tupac: Resurrection, he was motherfucking famous before he got shot. He was number 1 on the charts with Me Against The World while in jail.

For those who say that Eminem or 2Pac is best cause he sold more or cause he's got more awards then you are dumb. Awards and selling don't always make one better. How many Old School rappers, Underground rappers, even mainstream rappers deserve more awards than what they've ever got? If they even got any. How many should of sold more than what they really did? Some of these rappers are of the greatest and they aren't paid much attention compared to 2Pac.

I started listening to 2Pac by listening 'Till I Collapse (Remix) which had 2Pac in it. Both of these rappers are great but they have their differences. Some differences being positive while others negative. Eminem might be better then 2Pac at something but 2Pac is better at something else but stop bitching like some lame ass punks.

^ Wow.

On topic, i basically agree with that guy, stop bloody arguing about who's better; first of all it's a matter of opinion anyway, they're both great in their own ways. Secondly, why does one always have to be better than the other? It really isn't important in my eyes.

First of all, props for writing the most intelligent and objective reply to this thread. Eminem and 2Pac cannot be compared since they're absolutely different. They rap about different things, they lived a different life and they obviously have a different fan base. Evil Genius' replies kinda pissed me off since all of his points were unobjective and based on only his opinion and 'facts' he made out by himself. Firstly, I absolutely agree with what you're saying about awards. Awards are basically given by average people. Average people are impressionable. For them it matters what skin color they have, if their songs are catchy and the beats also. The singer should have something that everybody likes. But an average person doesn't listen to lyrics nor do they think about the meaning or anything. Of course there are exceptions, but mostly... not. Awards mean nothing but the artist is probably a marketing genius and makes catchy beats. That doesn't mean he's the best ever, alright.

Nevertheless, I think comparing Pac & Em is the most pointless thing I've ever heard. Their raps aren't even similar. They're so different. It's like comparing a mosquito to an elephant. What's the use? Also, their skin color makes a difference. Don't think about it in the wrong way now, I don't mean the color of the fan base. I mean the fact why Em got so famous at all. Evil Genius is trying to say he'd be the next Pac if he was black and famous, but it just ain't possible. People don't need multiple Pacs. There is only one Pac and Em wouldn't have broken through. If he was black, he couldn't rap about the same stuff he does now (alright, used to is better to say, unfortunately...). His sarcasm, views on his former life and laughing at the whole society is what made him so different. He couldn't be like that if he wasn't white. He probably hadn't been bullied as a kid that much etc etc. There is a possibility he hadn't even had a reason to break through no matter what and would be on streets rapping about, idk, cars and money right now. He got famous 'cause he was different. What made the difference? His white skin. And, yeah, he made rap for white kids more reachable too. Em is usually what brings white people to rap at first. He had pretty many things that made it easier for him to become famous while Pac didn't. He was a black man who did his own thing and did it good. Now that he's dead, yeah, it seems to be the usual boring pattern for dead stars to become greater and greater. He's still having new albums coming out while Em will probably never have, but that is also an extraneous factor. So, what can we say about them? They can't be compared no matter how hard we try! Just let them be. They're both great, no doubt about it. Comparing is stupid. Especially if it's based on the fact Em's movie won an oscar. And damn, Evil Genius, are you serious? You're trying to say Em is better than Pac 'cause he can make this annoying screeching voice? Please think things through. It's okay to like Em better than Pac, it's your opinion and no one can diss it, but think before you write. In your own good.

In response to D0llyShady, is Pac really less liked than Kobain and Marley? I agree there more Elvis fans now than Pac fans, but the other two didn't make sense to me, Pac is huge and the vast majority of rap fans like Pac. Idk that comment just made me think.

they cant be compared is/was because Pac did a total different form of rap...
and eminem does a more underground/hardcore type of rap...

I think you meant DrRapid not me since I haven't mentioned Kobain and Marley, but my opinion is that they're all pretty equal. They're huge legends and liked very much, it's just that among different people. People who listen to rock might respect Pac, but don't like his music. And it's normal. Just like people who listen to rap probably don't love Kobain. I don't think Koban and Marley have more fans than 2Pac.

And to Evan C. Talking about 'pussing out of the argument' pretty much proves you didn't get the point or simply didn't read what I was saying. As Chet said above, neither is better. It's just about what kind of rap you like. If you're more keen on Em's topics, you like him. If you're more interested in what Pac's got to say, you prefer him. It doesn't really depend on the rapper, rather the rap style. That isn't fair to them. It isn't objective. You can say you love Pac and make a perfect speech on why it is so, but it's still your opinion and it doesn't make him better than Em. If you were asked which one you like better and why you could say whatever you wish, but if asked which one is better there is no answer. Trying to push people into an argument with 'haha you're a sucker you don't dare to state your opinion' is disturbingly immature. If it came to which one I like best, I should say Em since I haven't listened to Pac enough - I only have one album, even though I am certainly going to get more - but this isn't final. I can't say since I'm not familiar with Pac's music enough. The only way how to compare them two would to go into details like 'who's flow is better', but since they're both excellent in their technique... there's no point.
