Does rapidshare keep logs?

Postby SkylZ » Aug 18th, '08, 15:35

With all this war going on between rightholding companies and internet users, I'm sort of a bit worried about rapidshare. Do they keep logs of downloaders? 'Cuz if they do the courts can always obligate them to give this information to "justice" forces :whistle:
So does it? :D

well yeah, you're right, knock on wood lol
but I just came across this post on some forum board:
3 weeks ago I received this email;
"Hello,

Account 204429 is being terminated due to violating the terms of service. Illegal downloads are being hosted on our servers, voiding our terms of service. We have detected and deleted these files, and are now in the process of terminating accounts that have downloaded these files. This is to ensure that more illegal content does not appear on our servers. We do not support or encourage the usage of illegal programs, music, or other media. The terminated account will appear on Rapidshare servers for 2-3 days but you will not be granted access to it."

So they do keep logs after all, at least for premium accounts
