like in my 1st single, he says:
Tryna pick up where the Eminem Show left off
I know anything's possible
Though I'm not gonna top what I sold
he wasnt as faithful in himself, ya know?

Eminem hasn't shown the ability to keep true to himself and still rap at a high level with his recent *metamorphosis*. I'm tired of all these excuses, the next album Eminem releases will put this kitten to rest. He's either lost it or has something left in the tank.
I agree.
But it's interesting you mentioned Jordan, because at the end of the day, Michael Jordan is a legend in basketball. Even though he un-retired and joined the Wizards, no one's gonna remember that shit. Fans remember him in Chicago, flying in the air with his tongue out. He will be remembered as one of the best to do it.
I'm not sure if I can say the same for Em. I personally will remember him as being one of the best, but I don't think his fans in general will. Which is sad imo because a few bad songs shouldn't overshadow the great stuff he's done. And he's done some GREAT stuff.
You kinda went a little deeper than what I was trying to say, but I respect what you said

When MJ joined the Wizards, sure he still had some game and was the best player on the team, but he didn't even make it to the playoffs. Like with Em's Encore. He had some great songs on there, and his album was arguably better than a lot of other rapper's albums out at the time, but it didn't compare to his past work, critically and commercially.
My whole point is MJ is not going to be remembered for his stuff with the Wizards. He'll be remembered in his prime. Em, on the otherhand, if he doesn't come out with anything that tops or equals his first 3 albums, I think a lot of his fans will remember him for the "lesser" songs.

There is not one song from that album I did not like. Encore is not anywhere up to par with his other albums but it still has like 10 sick songs!! There are a couple of weird songs on there but even on the weird songs like Big Weenie he still kills it on a couple of parts. It is not like Encore had no good songs, he might have just rushed the album or something. 16 songs on the album and I love 10 of them.....not a bad album to me!!
