New Eminem Interview on Shade 45 Soon!

Postby irfman » Sep 12th, '08, 19:21

Rap star Eminem will be interviewed by his own Sirius radio station, Shade 45, to discuss the 20th anniversary of indie record label Delicious Vinyl.

The rapper, who’s been most known the last few years for being underneath the radar, will be joined by Delicious Vinyl’s co-founder Mike Ross. The Los Angeles based label, founded in 1987, is most known for signing legendary West Coast artists The Pharcyde and Masta Ace, whom Eminem has touted for years as being one of his greatest influences.

In VIBE’s September Juice issue, Eminem spoke sincerely about his own overall impact. “There were others before me,” he said, “but in a sense, I blew the door open for people of other nationalities to actually do this.”

Yeah good article. And he did, he basically made it acceptable for anyone other than african-americans to be involved in the hip-hop industry like that.

Chet wrote:mc serch is white and accepted...hell he brought us Nas

But I agree that eminem made it more accepted. I probably wouldn't even be a rap fan without him.

Thats a good point, and rap wasn't as big, at least commercially when serch was doing it. I think that had something to do with it. Plus em got a lot more exposure cause of Dre and his lyrics/controversy.

Yeah, there were plenty of white rappers as far as underground rappers. But eminem was the first mainstream one, well i think..and besides vanilla ice anyway....lol, but he doesn't really count.

No I know, I'm just saying rap in general wasn't as big as it was when Em stepped on the scene. Videos were played more, mtv had all the kids watching trl, and in 99 rap was really spreading more across the nation as opposed to just east coast west coast.
