Britney Spears and Eminem

Postby Tash8 » Oct 20th, '08, 01:06

does anyone realize how similar positions eminem and britney spears are? They both were the hottest artists of the early '00 both set records for their genres and then after like 2005 or whatever they both completely "fall off" (different meanings for each artists but still) and they both enter rehab and now all they sudden both are making a comeback. Then critics and fans are all up on them on how their image is now, (eminem being fat, britney coming back from kids problems and rehab).

posted this in the topic of womanizer but whatever.

i had just read your original post and was thinking about it when i came in here lol

anywae, i guess there careers have taken similiar paths, but go through music and lots of artists take the same route its just by coincidence than em and britney are taking the same routes at the same time. i cant comment on britneys "fall off" though, ive never followed her as a fan and anyone i know who likes/listens to britney have always liked her singles. her second last album (05 period i think) was the one with toxic as the single right ? cox toxic was a productional masterpeice and no one will make me think otherwise, i broke the shit down in a multitrack and WOW.

I agree,

Both were heavily in the spot light; unlike Britney, Eminem seemed to handle his crises in a more private manner. I like both artists, and I agree with Bar that Toxic was excellent.

Furthermore, I don't know if anyone listened to Blackout but I personally think it was her best album so far. Also, this may sound weird, but I think they used a couple of Eminem's lines subliminally in some of her songs. Not many, but if you listen to the album you may pick it up.

Off the top of my head... "preacher preacher I'm your 5th grade teacher" and "freakshow, freakshow, you can give them a peep show, peepshow..."

There are a couple of more- it may be just my imagination but if you really want just listen to the album and see.

When did Eminem say "freakshow freakshow you can give them a peepshow"?

No no no- you need to listen to the album. I was just trying to give an example off the top of my head. I haven't listened to the album for a few months so sorry about that. As I said, it may be just me but subliminally I believe there are a few instances where there is something there.

I know I am not making the best argument. This is just my personal point of view and it may be because I am a fan off both. I don't know all the lyrics to either artist however I love listening to both.

I know there probably isn't many Britney fans here but if you are curious or just merely bored and want to waste an hour of your time I suggest you download it and listen...

I agree with Eminem and Britney Spears being at the same point in their careers, like their big comeback after all the craziness...

I just have a queston to people that actually know, because I know nothing about Britney Spears as an artist (except that I like all her singles, and she's really enetertaining lol): how involved is she in her own music? Because I could never be a Britney fan because of the lip syncing. Even when I was younger and found out she never sang live, I was like "... Oh." lol... I know that's kinda weird, but it's hard for me to respect that. and it kinda just made me assume that she has nothing to do with her own music, that shes pretty much just a typical music industry pop star. But I could be wrong!

I heard that was her best. A lot of people didn;t care tho because of her out-of-music lifestyle

From what I understand and what was said by some critics was that Britney had little to do with the album. I could be wrong, however the production seemed excellent (I am in no way a producer, just a consumer)and if the promotion was handled different (i.e. Britney actually tried) the commercial outcome would have been much different I believe.

Anyhow, I need to stop procrastinating and do some actual work- study and cleaning. I just don't feel like doing it, hence why I am actually posting instead of just reading :shifty:

See you guys all round...

I agree with Tash here. Also, Britney is really talented but it's her crazy stuff that took everything away from her. Moreover, media was really harsh on her. Same is the case with Amy Winehouse.

Why don't they just be good girls and give good music? Why don't they be like...? Hmmm anyone knows a good female artist who is not into so much trouble? Beyoncé?
