But while I prefer Pac Rakim is the greatest rapper to ever exist. And in regards to sales he's had about 80 more albums than anyone else. It'd be hard NOT to sell that many copies with 96 albums lol

Not everyone knows Rakim, only those who dig deep know him, or those who were born in the 80's or some shit. But Tupac, everyone knows him, I'm pretty sure everyone in all genres know him to. Dude Rakim is complex and great and lyrical as fuck, but no one tops Tupac NO ONE no matter what.

I never even heard of Rakim until I started on this site lol

See that's what I mean. Tupac, you don't even have to have internet to know him these days. Someone in your school or someone around you will introduce you to Tupac's music no doubt about that.

Yeah Pac is more known than Rakim. And Jay-Z is more known than Big Pun. Doesn't mean he's BETTER. If the comparison was best artist on either coast then Pac would bring the west coast to the winner's circle. But since it's about the west coast vs the east coast the east coast wins because as a whole it's had more high selling artists, more popular artists, and more skilled artists. East Coast. But it's all speculation and opinion so the discussion will never end.

Well if you wanna talk war, than 2pac took on the whole east coast by himself (Outlawz were maybe part of it I'm not sure). Who's better now? lol. Rakim wasn't even involved in that war, that just shows his no power, his only lyrics. IMO 2pac destroyed the east, Hit Em Up IMO is a lot better than "Nas - Either" alot more enjoyable, clubs in Australia till this day play that song. Either is more lyrical, but you act like Tupac is souljah boy or some shit, what pac ain't got lyrics? :confusion:

Lol I never even suggested that. Tupac is my favorite rapper by a long shot, hence the avatar. But ONE person doesn't discredit an entire coast of great artists. If it was the best rapper then it would be Pac. But it's the better of the two coasts and the west died with Pac. Game doesn't even chip the tip of the iceberg when you're talking about all of rap's elite minus maybe 3 people.

That's what the south gave us. Fuck them. Except Luda... he's cool.

EDIT: We can't forget the most important southern contribution

West Coast all the way, you can take your nas's, your jays and your biggies and shove them up your ass....

next one to disrespect the West Coast is going to get Trick Trick sent to their house to rip their lungs out like Young Berg's Chain.

Yeah, but Rakim had no reason to, Tupac even said Rakim was the best in one of his songs I think, so why would Rakim even wan't to diss Pac. When I made this topic I was just talkin East vs West rap in general, not the whole Pac vs Big, Mobb Deep and any of that hit em up stuff. So who do you think better East vs West in general?

Hmm I see, I guess I did get carried away a little :shifty:

But East is definitely better in general. West follows.

midwest, south, north<<can suck my dick. period.
