Gives You Hell (Remix)

Postby James R. » Feb 5th, '09, 06:15

Well I fucking LOVE that new All American Rejects Song so I thought I'd a little hip-hop to it. It's only 16 total bars from me, but I think it fits well and would sound pretty dope recorded.

Here's the link I used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJYlSfgoVXM

James R. (start when he starts talking)
I used to stay up all night watchin you sleep
Thoughts would be deep about what I thought we could be
What happened to me? I should ask what happened to us
You took off so fast man you left me trapped in the dust
Back the shit up, I just wanted you to be real
I miss your face, and you’re shaped so beautifully still
Last I heard your life was on a mission to fail
I don’t give damn cuz I’ll still be givin you hell

All American Rejects:
When you see my face hope it gives you hell hope it gives you hell
When you walk my way hope it gives you hell hope it gives youu hell

James R.
So what’s goin on wit you and the new man?
Learnin all the things you can do wit a food stamp?
Heard you got a kid and you aint seen Shawn since
It’s nonsense, but to me it’s what y’all get
From you turning tables and you fallin for his game
I thought you woulda figured out that all boys aint the same
Honestly, girl, I don’t usually flow
About you, but it’s time cuz you used me ho

::Finish the song as it is normally::

^Damn man. Thanks a lot. Completely based on a convo I had with my ex a few months ago, so you're pretty much just hearing my side of the convo (obviously changed into lyrics because I don't go around rapping everything I do/say to people) and you can pretty much fill in whatever she says haha.

i love the way you wrote this song , it's structured very well , you have imagery which is based on realism , rhymes were good and flowed very well to me ,, the concept is there and sick ,, but lyrics were simple this time , but still leaves an impact .. and i can sense the emotions running through the verses , which is something great .. overlall it's a sick one,, keep writing James .. :y: :y:

^Thanks guys :)

@ Z- Yeah its very VERY basic and it kinda killed me to do it like that, but I've never written to a rock song before (I don't think) and it was a little difficult to keep the flow. And it didn't help that I had to think through them singing on the track lol.

Very nice.
I got nothing against simple lyrics when the verse(s) are written well :y:

I actually looked for something to complain on, but I didn't find anything
