That's actually an intresting perspective. Never thought of it that way, and it does make sence.

I never made the connection between his work on Pac's albums and his work on his own album. I can see how he may have been burned out by the time that he had to begin work on Encore, so that could be one reason why the songs on Encore weren't up to his usual quality.

I don't all out hate Encore, but real fans can see a definite difference in the level of work that went into it when you compare it to his earlier work.

I don't hate Encore I like it in a way, but as I thought people hate it coz of "shitty lyrics". And the most hated of Encore songs, like Big Weeney for example, got pretty good beats. And on Loyal To The Game Em got only 2 hooks and 1 verse. So I think it's not the reason why Encore is "so bad" - I think that just what Em wanted to do... I don't think Em didn't know that songs like Puke, Big Weeney or My 1st Single wouldn't become the greatest fuckin' hits
Ted Bundy did it, John Gasey did it, Jeffery Dahmer did it, Jim Baker did it, Jimmy Swaggart did it, Lil Rick did it... And why me can't do it? :confusion:

i just think that when he made encore it was the most drama-less, steady part of his career and at that point he had nothin 2 prove.

well it's good to point this out , cuz yeah actually i believe it has a major influence on encore, cuz he was givin the responsibility to produce an album for 2pac , so maybe he give loyal to the game more attention or something than encore, so he wasn't fully focusing in encore at all , so yeah it has something to do with encore album , although i still thinks it's a good album

I think that the encore would be a lot better if eminem used the beats made for loyal to the game. I mean I dont hate the album but some tracks could been easily replaced

Maybe Eminem did put some more attention to Loyal To The Game but I don't really think that's the main reason for Encore being a bit of a disappointment. I don't necessarily think that he was too busy producing that album for his own album then to have lacked more time in the making.

To be honest, Eminem's production on Loyal To The Game was below average. His beats were mostly good but a lot of them just didn't fit with 2Pac's verses so he had to slow his voice down. Second, he made 2Pac say words which you would hate Em for doing so like "G-Unit", "2005" and "Obie"... The original versions of the songs in this album were mostly better but I still think Eminem did an al rite job.

I dunno man, I'm gonna have to disagree there. I think the beats Em did were outstanding, and matched Tupac's style perfectly. Listen to "Don't You Trust Me?", "Thugz Get Lonely Too", "Out On Bail", "Black Cotton", "Soilder Like Me", "Loyal To The Game", all of those tracks are bangers and so are the beats.

Most of the tracks you mentioned there are my favorites out of the album.

Soldier Like Me
Don't You Trust Me
Black Cotton
The Uppercut
Ghetto Gospel
Loyal To The Game

But when I listen to the OGs I feel like he should of done some fixing to them but not much more. I didn't say I didn't like the beats, but that they didn't fit as nicely in some places e.g Out On Bail, Thug 4 Life

Me being quite a big 2Pac fan I think this is probably one of the most mediocre 2Pac albums but no hatred upon Eminem's production neither.

I still stand by the thought that Encore was intended to be the way it was. He was experimenting with concepts and styles of songs, and people just didn't like it.

I don't think Eminem is the type of person to put any music out until he is 100% satisfied with it (look at Relapse), so if there were things about Encore he didn't like he'd probably have changed them before release.

i agree, it makes sense, he always tries new style and that was his new style and i'm sure he's learned people don't like it.
